… seems like it could easily be some insight into the world of Epstein. Maybe a glamorized version, but the references to the child sex trafficking (Leelee Sobieski’s character), the upper echelon underground sex-cult of NYC, Sydney Pollacks character not being able to name the names of the people involved because they’re so well known. It’s not a new concept, it just feels a little too applicable with all of the revelations these days
There’s no insight there. It is made dramatic because it is a movie about a couple getting spun out on jealousy, and the man goes on a weird, dreamlike, psychosexual journey over the course of an evening. The reality is not mysterious and intriguing. It is just exploitation and abuse of vulnerable people, often children. Kubrick wasn’t trying to tell us any secret codes. The debauchery of the wealthy is well known, and he showed it in other movies as well- like Barry Lyndon and Spartacus.

If it was about Epstein the music would have been Y.M.C.A. instead of Ligeti.

🙄 Every time with this shit. It's based off a [book](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_Story) and is one he had wanted to adapt for a long time. It's not a mysterious conspiracy. It's all right f****** there. Kubrick talked about it. People get crazy about this like The Shining, it ain't some deep shit.

I mean it is a pretty deep movie, just not in the conspiracy theory way that people want it to be

Every industry, culture and historical era has bad people who do bad things. It's not specific to Hollywood, the rich, or individual countries.

What revelation has come out that's even remotely close to the stuff in Eyes Wide Shut? You know Epstein got brought down because a girl in high school (who must've been telling her friends what was going on) got called a s*** by another high school girl she was fighting with, and her mom heard her explaining why, right?
