Well deserved. It's really hard to live up to a great debut season of a show, to have the second season deliver in that respect, but they mostly managed to do it. It was fantastic.

I think S2 will be a lot better to watch as a binge like S1. Complaints about the slow pace and numerous plotlines will probably be a lot easier to digest when you're not waiting weekly for it.

tyrantcv Mar 30, 2026 +111
Yeah I binged it, thought it was great. I can definitely see some pacing issues if you're watching week to week though

Agreeable_Log_4109 Mar 30, 2026 +69
I think lucy and the ghoul walked from novac to vegas with several detours in the time it took the guy in the vault to manage 20 steps outside.

Hey, it was very important to him to look _very intensely_ at the scenery. A lot. One more time should do it. Maybe two. Oh and then instead of escaping from immediate danger look for data you don't understand, get brained, but then saved because you hid under a table and bad things can't get you there. Still a decent show but oof - tumble from the tighter plotting of Season One.
22
InvestigatorOk7015 Mar 31, 2026 +30
Yeah, people in fallout games never take their time and take in the scenery.

skizmcniz Mar 31, 2026 +11
The first time I played Fallout 4, I had 39 hours of playtime and had only completed a single main quest. I spent so much time just checking out all the scenery and areas. I enjoyed the story, but exploring was just as fun, if not moreso.
11
GozerDaGozerian Mar 31, 2026 +6
First time I played Fallout 3, I found my Dad by accident. I had a grid system for exploration so that I wouldn’t miss anything fun. When I found a secret bunker under that gas station or whatever it was… Such a magical feeling. Ive been chasing that high ever since.

Practical-Shape2325 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Did this on my last playthrough because of a mix of things I remembered and forgot. I remembered that going south to the Tower could get me the mask to let me ignore Ghouls. Then I just started going around the map from there and encountered my Dad.
2
Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn Mar 31, 2026 +1
I *just* started Fallout 4 (my first Fallout game...thanks to the series) and pretty much the same lol. Once I figured out it's not a run & gun game and kept dying....it's fun exploring!

Particular_Wear_6960 Mar 31, 2026 +5
This was an issue among many others in my opinion. I'm surprised Listnook signs off on it, me and my family couldn't stand this season. I remember my dad saying like, I was excited to see each next episode in season one, now I'm kinda hesitant. Most scenes in the present time were a very predicable action horror sequence and each main character gets saved by plot armor. But the main thing for me was that I just simply wasn't entertained. I don't care about anything else if I wasn't entertained. But I'll keep elaborating why. House was a ridiculous cRaZy PsYcHo and totally felt out of place from what he was in the videogame. We spent way too long in the past with Cooper, I know they were trying to flesh his character out more but I was just bored with the flashbacks. Each scene with Norm was a horror scene but I felt no suspense and could have been cut out completely. We should have spent more time with Lucy. The Legion only had one of two scenes it felt, McCauley Culkin felt totally out of place too. The few comedic scenes didn't work for me. I could keep going but I'll stop here. I strongly disliked season two and just ugh.

Khiva Mar 31, 2026 +2
It wrapped a couple months ago and I'm struggling to remember what a lot of these plots were even about.
2
skyturnedred Mar 31, 2026 +2
I would be happy if the entire show was just Lucy and the Ghoul doing sidequests for 22 episodes per season.
2
Nickizgr8 Apr 1, 2026 +2
I still don't get the geography of the show, it just doesn't make sense and make me feel most of the decisions were just done for poor nostalgia bait. They start in Novac (which is already a huge distance from either entry into the Mojave from Shady Sands and would have passed Vegas. And the dino is facing the wrong way, pretty important detail for a lookout tower.) Lucy gets kidnapped taken to a Legion Camp somewhere Ghoul goes to Camp Golf. Ghoul finds NCR Remnants in the hills with a view of Primm Ghoul gets to the Legion, rescues Lucy, all within a few days. They approach Vegas and the strip. However when they enter they strip they are on the completely opposite side to the entrance to Freeside. So they entered from the West, I can only assume a entrance via Westside was added later. But since they were on the East side, with Novac and Camp golf why would they skirt entirely around Freeside. And why are the Kings in Westside.

For what it's worth I binged it recently and didn't think it was very good, especially compared to season one. Mainly the pacing was quite poor. Binging it you can see how little ground is covered especially in plots like the brother's adventures out of the vault. Because things get so split up it just feels like molasses getting through some parts. There's the fan service teases that don't go anywhere but to set up things in future seasons and overall a lack of a driving motivation. Season one ended with everyone rushing to the same place and after the same thing with a sense of urgency. Season 2 didn't use that McGuffin and you really see a lot more hemming and hawing on what to do and where to go, like Lucy flipflopping on the morals of the Enclave. How the Legion look like about 12 guys so when they warn "The Legion is coming!" like that means anything to the viewer after they have not been built up very well as an intimating force. The season felt like a lot of table setting for future seasons but I don't really know what I'm supposed to be looking forward to in those seasons other than a vague engineered virus and super mutants.
64
hedoeswhathewants Mar 31, 2026 +26
You simply can't support that many plotlines with 8 episode seasons
26
NoNefariousness2144 Mar 31, 2026 +18
Yep, they didn’t even bother wrapping up the stupid vault snack club plot in the finale.
18
Neamow Mar 31, 2026 +9
I was truly wondering where that was going. It turns out... nowhere.
9
Khiva Mar 31, 2026 +12
That would imply it was rushed. If anything, oddly enough, the pacing frequently dragged.
12
xtfftc Mar 31, 2026 +3
I think it had the opposite problem. It's not like they were trying to develop all those plotlines but ended up rushing them... They had all those plotlines but none of them had any substance whatsoever. It was just filler.
3
poland626 Mar 31, 2026 +16
Same! I'm on ep 7 and it's a lot of ghoul and lucy walking, guy blowing up helpless animals and humans heads up, some flashbacks of walter getting drunk, and lots of complaining about wasted food and water between useless characters dealing with weird incest stuff. Oh and then there's the soldier and ghoul who just keep f****** things up in situations they fall into all the time. it's like, WTF happened in season 2?
16
Personal-Gur-7496 Mar 31, 2026 +11
I feel like there's a lot of push to try and nudge viewers into being weekly viewers but nah bro, I will never do that. Unless it's a procedural episodic thing, I want that big long story at the pace I set for myself. I did watch S2 episode by episode, and it felt pretty bad, and I suspect on a binge watch it would be like you said. Teasing is good but it felt like more tease than finishing the job, overall. Teases should be subtle but big, and not take a huge amount of the time. It left a gross impression of "let's stretch things out for longer engagement" bullshit rather than wanting to hit an ideal of crafting the perfect television experience. Also agree completely about The Legion.
11
Massive_Weiner Mar 30, 2026 +22
Same. Binging the season only highlights just how meandering the story feels in comparison to the debut.
22
duder2000 Mar 31, 2026 +11
I'm genuinely baffled to see people liking season 2. It had zero character development, nonsensical plots that didn't move the story forward and constant key-jangling memberberries that mostly served to character assassinate beloved figures/groups from New Vegas. They so massively dropped the ball from season 1 it's unbelievable.
11
RecordingSilly6118 Mar 31, 2026 +2
I think thats a bit overkill.
2
duder2000 Mar 31, 2026 +1
Is there anything in particular you'd dispute?
1
bubbles_loves_omar Mar 31, 2026 +4
Same
4
N0r3m0rse Mar 31, 2026 +1
I thought the season really dropped the ball with the setting personally. All that fan service and set up just to wipe everything clean. No more charm the game had, or nuance. It she's k the world down in a major way for me, and it all led to what us essentially going to be a retread of the games basic conflict; legion vs NCR for the strip. Like, wow cool Ive never seen that before...
1
complete_your_task Mar 31, 2026 +3
I think it will also be improved by future seasons. There was a lot of time dedicated to setting things up, and many of those things didn't fully pay off by the end of the season.
3
G-Vic Mar 31, 2026 +2
This is definitely a show I will wait to watch until it is finished.
2
Hilldawg4president Mar 31, 2026 +2
I got too used to the Netflix dump releases, now I always wait until a show is finished with a season before I start it
2
ChiefBigTiddy Mar 31, 2026 +1
I don't think they figured out how to release it Midnight on Wednesday or whatever and they kept making changes When HBO does it, it's Sunday at 9. It's still something a lot of people tune in for. Amazon didn't pull that off at all.
1
trickman01 Mar 31, 2026 +14
They also had the second season out relatively quickly compared to most other streaming shows.
14
KarateKid917 Mar 31, 2026 +2
And that was with a filming delay because of the wildfires in early 2025. Season probably would have been out even sooner if the fires didn’t happen
2
PayneTrain181999 Mar 30, 2026 +27
Live action One Piece 🤝 Fallout Good first season and an even better second season
27
geek_of_nature Mar 30, 2026 +20
They're both shows trying to reduce the wait time between seasons too. There was a big gap between the first two seasons of One Piece, that was largely due to external factors such as the writers and actors strikes. There will be a much smaller gap between the second and third seasons as they already started filming on the third well before the second had aired. It should easily be out next year. Fallout similarly onoy had about 20 months between its first two seasons, which is a big improvement from all the shows taking 2-3 years usually.

Upbeat_Tension_8077 Mar 30, 2026 +230
Well-deserved. It's definitely one of the best video game adaptations on TV/Film (even though that's usually a low bar to top lol) & Walton Goggins has been incredible throughout it
230
PayneTrain181999 Mar 30, 2026 +128
The Ghoul obviously has so much aura, but his flashback scenes are so well done too.
128
Upbeat_Tension_8077 Mar 30, 2026 +44
I love those scenes in particular, especially when matched with the progression of him keeping his humanity in the post-apocalyptic storyline & I think they'll be sweet to rewatch upon the end of the show, when we'll hopefully see the culmination of the Ghoul coming closest to being Cooper again

I watched some videos on Fallout lore on YouTube between season 1 and 2. I never played the games, and I still loved season 1. But after learning more about the world, it really made season 2 even more enjoyable. I know they don't stick to everything lore wise, but it just helped to know some more about it.
11
Randolpho Mar 31, 2026 +3
> It's definitely one of the best video game adaptations on TV/Film As someone who absolutely loved the Last of Us tv show (even season 2!) as well as Twisted Metal, Fallout is *easily* the absolute best video game adaptation of all time in any visual media. It fits into the game's themes flawlessly

tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
It’s still nowhere near as good as the games, though. Idk, maybe being able to actually explore a world makes it feel higher stakes than just watching a show. Or maybe the world was designed for interactivity. Either way, the show just didn’t hit like the games did. Anyone who doesn’t play the games is doing themselves a disservice.

Fallout is a great show but the ads for prime members make it borderline unwatchable
179
Evil_waffle3 Mar 30, 2026 +67
Get a VPN and switch your location to Ireland. That’s what I’ve been doing to avoid ads for the new invincible season.
67
justadudeinohio Mar 31, 2026 +28
at what point do you just put on your pirate hat? i get wanting to support the product but they clearly don't want your money.
28
FoxyBastard Mar 30, 2026 +10
Why specifically Ireland?
10
Orleanian Mar 31, 2026 +57
The Ghoul is dubbed with a brogue and is essentially a vindictive leprechaun that way.
57
Evil_waffle3 Mar 30, 2026 +17
Ireland is the only country I found that only has one ad at the start of an epsiode.
17
FoxyBastard Mar 31, 2026 +4
Oh, fair enough. Thanks.

5

I had to pirate it. Not sure what use my Amazon subscription was when I have like 9 minutes of ads per episode
21
sixmeng Mar 30, 2026 +10
Even without the ads, you still get short scenes due to the show being edited in a way to show these ads. The last episode was soo annoying without ads as each scene was just short scene then black screen (ad) next scene......over and over again. Like the show but season 2 just felt off due to that which never happened in season 1.
10
slicer4ever Mar 31, 2026 +7
I dont know if ads are 100% to blame for that. The number of story threads s2 was juggling was a bit excessive, and neccissitated jumping around frequently.
7
IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 31, 2026 +3
F****** insane that we are basically back to cable style television with preplanned ad breaks. Streaming was supposed to get us away from that horse shit.
3
BannedAccount001 Mar 31, 2026 +1
CABLE was supposed to get us away from it, until it didn’t. We all knew this was coming. Ad money will always be more than you can pay them.
1
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +2
It feels a bit worrying that the artistry of TV has to work around adverts. Films don’t do this. Books don’t do this. Games don’t do this. Only TV has to play second fiddle to ads for face cream.
2
ButtPlugForPM Mar 31, 2026 +4
the HDR too is sooo f****** broken. I put it on a refrence Monitor that can do 4400nits and some of the "OUTDOOR" scenes where they are in the desert barely pushes past 500 but then will SHOOT up to 1500 randomly in an indoor scene... The indoor scenes should not be brighter than a scene set in day light Whoever did their HDR mastering not just on this but pretty much ALL amazon shows they alweays look so dark that if u watch on an oled can cause black crush Reacher is EXACTLY the same it's always just "dull" no matter if u watch it on a OLED/Miniled/or a refrence montiro

That's why you watch on REDACTED or block ads on prime. Seriously I was offered a free month of prime around the same time the show was on. Otherwise I wouldn't have watched it on prime. Amazon is so greedy. F*** them.
2
Own-Satisfaction4427 Mar 31, 2026 +1
I just watch it on Cineby. I love good TV but can't justify supporting Amazon. Or Netflix, considering what they did to the Witcher & I'm Not Okay With This

how? I hate ads as much as the next guy but it’s not even close to unwatchable
3
THALANDMAN Mar 30, 2026 +69
The amount of fanservice they pay to the games without making it obvious is crazy.
69
AnOnlineHandle Mar 31, 2026 +9
IDK I loved season 1 because it all felt like it was using the game elements naturally, but haven't wanted to watch more than 2 episodes of season 2 because it feels like it's got way too much "look a game reference!" moments which don't feel like they fit and take me right out, like the guy muttering the infamous patrolling the mojave line as he walks into town in a hypnotized state. Completely took any tension out of the scene for me, like was the intent to be funny? Those kind of winking nostalgia references to previous entries in a franchise really put me off and are one of the worst things about JJ Abrams style reboots. I generally like Rings of Power despite its flaws, but the weakest parts by far were those kinds of winks, e.g. Tom Bombadil just quoting some of Gandalf's memorable lines to him thousands of years earlier without the context to even make them work.
9
firesyrup Mar 31, 2026 +66
I feel like it is riding on the charm of the first season. I found the second season to be a huge step down, meandering and borderline dull.

1
crazyabtmonkeys Mar 30, 2026 +67
Season one was great but season two was meandering and has too many people to focus on. You can tell the writers really want to stay in prewar and the post war narrative suffers. Season one is 8.5/10 and season two is 6/10. I also don't care about the Ghouls family after the "your princess is in another castle". And the Enclave is starting to feel like Umbrella from the Resident Evil movies where they yoyo from all powerful to all but destroyed until the next movie. Also the NCR being dead until they have an army right on time at the end and the Legion fighting over a corps until Ed Gein decides "I am the Captain now" and suddenly united is lame and bad writing. Also not a fan of Lucy as much as season one. She hasn't grown. She's still almost too naive tool live at this point. Season one was progressing her but she's still wearing the Vault outfit with no added armor and still has the same attitude as one unless she's on drugs.
67
Low-Astronomer-7009 Mar 31, 2026 +20
I mostly agree with you on this. It drove me nuts how it seems to just cover each plot line for about ten minutes each episode in one chunk then move to the next and there was very little, if any, thematic arc between them all.
20
NoNefariousness2144 Mar 31, 2026 +6
Especially with how Amazon seems to force all their flagship shows to have only eight episodes per season with 45ish minute runtimes (The Boys, Reacher, Gen V, Invincible) At least Netflix allows episodes to be an hour or longer if needed.
6
Phazon2000 Mar 31, 2026 +12
Agreed. The factions were treated like a joke and lazily written. This show is fun for the eyes but painful for the brain it’s honestly just very mid.
12
OsmeOxys Mar 31, 2026 +8
Brotherhood seems pretty well done. Legion was a joke, always have been, and are exactly how I'd imagine they would be. Feels like they were shoe horned in at the last minute though. The NCR though... That one feels really, really lame. It seems like they're being set up some sort of revival next season, but their current state just makes no sense 15 years after FONV. Shady sands would be a big loss sure, but the rest of the Mojave is still kicking.
8
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
But the Legion aren’t a joke. Legion fanboys are obviously the butt of the joke. But the Legion themselves are a terrifying and formidable force who conquered the entire East and are set to win the battle of the Hoover Dam before you show up. They’re skilled soldiers and have an intelligence network better than anyone else in the wastes. Most NCR bases are either full of moles, being hounded or are even outright destroyed by Legion action. And they routinely torture and r*** and execute civilians along their path of destruction.
1
OsmeOxys Mar 31, 2026 +1
They were a real danger and threat with Caesar at the helm, but I meant that they're a joke as a society. More of a band of brigands than anything. Ruled by chaos, senseless and wildly excessive violence, a slave army, little to no actual government, and a leadership structure that relied entirely on the the popular and/or forced following of a single man. They were always going to collapse when Caesar/Sallow died. Without him the legion is little more than a bunch of particular psychotic raiders in cooler clothing.
1
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
Fallout itself is a parody of American culture. But the show seems like it wanted to parody this parody, which means a bunch of serious factions with comical elements became completely comical factions.
1
Mcfinley Mar 31, 2026 +1
> And the Enclave is starting to feel like Umbrella from the Resident Evil movies where they yoyo from all powerful to all but destroyed until the next movie. Tbf this is true to the games as well
1
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
In my eyes showing the prewar at all was a big mistake. It’s supposed to haunt the narrative. One of the fundamental themes of Fallout is “mankind’s big ambitions lead him to destroy himself through war.” The fact that nobody even remembers who launched the nukes, let alone anything else about the pre war world, is a big part of that theme. They were so desperate to control the Earth that they totally erased themselves and destroyed everything. Having the prewar make up, like, half the story cheapens all that.

I played 1&2 long time ago and recently, also enjoyed 3, 4, and NV, not too interested in 76. As far as lore/universe is concerned, I agree they nailed it as a television experience. I don't need to push up my glasses, hit my inhaler, and um akchually. It hits a great zone of broad appeal and making me happy with certain small things.

crazyabtmonkeys Mar 31, 2026 +7
Way too many plots and characters to focus on. The inbreeding group stuff could be cut and nothing would change. The overseer stuff, Chet, and Lucy's Brothers stuff would be interesting but it's so scattered and overshadowed by the wasteland stuff and the Mcguffin plot. I hated the free energy thing. So basically after all that it powers Mr. House? Seems like a bullshit way to be rid of that plot point. I also hate how the BOS is so retarded and powerful that they have a Mcguffin that the East coast is vying for and they left it unguarded and then just start killing each other immediately. Felt like a bullshit way to level the playing field of all the major players and have a big spectacle of the Prydwins going at it. I'm not a "but muh lore" guy but it feels like the writers over relied on New Vegas lore and now they feel like they have to include everything to the point it's overstuffed and will collapse on itself. I liked Lucy in season one but now I'm kind of game for her just dying and her brother taking the reigns. I don't care about the romance. I want to like Maximus but hes kind of turning into a waffling psychopath with a low IQ. If season one started off as schizophrenic as season two I would not have continued.

TheDetailsMatterNow Mar 31, 2026 +14
In my opinion, season 2 is significantly worse with the writing. If you aren't connecting with season 1 you're probably not going to like 2. Granted, I am one of those super Fallout New Vegas fans and started tweaking at a number of things the show did with the lore, but even that aside, I felt like they were putting focus on certain side plots in the show to justify having the main cast less in the show. The b-side plots (like the vault dweller drama) are definitely aimed at regular watchers.

You can safely drop it at this point. It’s not going to suddenly introduce a new aspect that’s going to change your perspective on the characters/story.

Appreciate it.

Fickle_Competition33 Mar 30, 2026 +5
Me too, I'm a Fallout fan since the old Fallout 1/2, also 3, NV, and 4. The series plot is so dispersed, the before nuclear disaster plot is too forced. The tension of "everyone is an enemy in potential" of S1 was replaced by incompetent, comical threats.

MasterArCtiK Mar 30, 2026 +10
And Bethesda still doesn’t have any fallout gameplay to show or release… I’ve never seen a company fumble the bag so hard as Bethesda with boringfield and then the ensuing content sahara desert
10
Have_A_Jelly_Baby Mar 31, 2026 +9
Elder Scrolls VI is happening before Fallout 5, and it's going to be a whole lotta years before we get either. There's been Fallout-TV themed content for Fallout 76, that's pretty much the most anyone could expect out of Bethesda these days.
9
MasterArCtiK Mar 31, 2026 +4
Yeah it’s really unfortunate… Bethesda has been non-stop fumbling since fallout 4 it feels like
4
Personal-Gur-7496 Mar 31, 2026 +2
It's really quite impressive in a way
2
JardineByNature Apr 1, 2026 +1
you haven't seen much bag fumbling then, because they made a mint and are all obscenely wealthy. Oh no, they could have been richer. What a tragedy.
1
MasterArCtiK Apr 1, 2026 +1
Oh they certainly aren’t hurting for money. Just thinking of the wild possibilities of mega money if they had a really high quality fallout 5 releasing right now.

TimeTurner96 Mar 31, 2026 +8
"Season one of Fallout also had an uptick of viewing while season two was running, Amazon says, such that 100 million people globally watched at least a few minutes of the series as a whole." I really hate all the different ways a view is seen today. So i watched 15 minutes of Fallout - decided it wasn't for me and get counted as a view and reported in a way that imo sggests i was a regular viewer.

Personal-Gur-7496 Mar 31, 2026 +6
Statistics, wooooo! The devil's in the details.

Zalvren Mar 31, 2026 +3
At least they simply only compares to their other series which I assume they measure the same way but yeah the actual number means nothing

Sounds like Microsoft reporting all the times I accidentally click on Copilot while I’m trying to open my files.

MitchyMatt Mar 30, 2026 +36
Man I could just not get into season 2. Compared to shows like The Pitt or Paradise, I can't get passed the huge draw backs I'm finding in this show. I really love Fallout but the show feels like the Leonardo pointing meme all the time and that ain't enough for me. Plus the pacing is just all over.

LostInStatic Mar 30, 2026 +25
The season 2 finale has to be one of the worst edited episodes of television I’ve ever seen. Scenes literally lasting 20 seconds before going to the next viewpoint
25
IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 31, 2026 +3
They edited it like that to make room for ad breaks.
3
Khiva Mar 31, 2026 +1
It was somehow both rushing and dragging. They need JK Simmons as showrunner.
1
Drama79 Mar 31, 2026 +1
TV viewership always lags - S2 did well because S1 was great. If your view is the majority view, S3 numbers will tail off, even if it bangs.
1
Vlayer Mar 30, 2026 +19
Season 2 was just extremely scattershot, wanting to give absolutely every character a slice of the pie, no matter how small their share. The material is fine, solid even, but the execution left much to be desired. Certainly wasn't helped by the awkwardly sudden fade to blacks that lingered way too long.
19
Justingotgame22 Mar 31, 2026 +3
Season 2 paradise is awful. What are you on about? lol fallout season 2 was great
3
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
It really does. They knew they couldn’t do the incredibly complex worldbuilding or gameplay of an RPG in a linear TV show. So instead they had member berries.
1
InnocentTailor Mar 30, 2026 +19
Whoo! This is a fantastic show for both longtime fans and newcomers.

lordcommander55 Mar 31, 2026 +6
I couldn't get into season 2. Stopped after 2 episodes. I'm also not a gamer so doesnt have that pull going for me I guess
6
PalpyTime Mar 31, 2026 +5
I'm a gamer, and I love Fallout games, and S2 sucked hard. It's just bad TV.
5
DerelictInfinity Mar 31, 2026 +5
I’m still astonished that they’ve managed to capture the vibe of the games so well.

Prepared for downvotes: Fallout Tv Show had a good, bit bland, but sufficient season 1. Season 2 definitely confirms the showrunners clearly don’t know Fallout or atleast its roots. 1. It takes place on West Coast Fallout worldbuilding and lore…yet they destroyed every single town we encounter to turn the West back into a Wasteland. It doesn’t feel like something Interplay or Obsidian would’ve done. Yes I know Van Buren (Interplay’s canceled Fallout 3) had NCR’s Capital having a bomb in a government building. That doesn’t mean California is a boneheaded, dead Wasteland again. 2. Fallout is exploring and reacting to how towns interact with one another to join up or wage skirmishes for territory, resources, or people. Societies rise up, like the NCR. 3. Dialogue and pacing are atrocious as f*** for season 2. Culkin needs to be recasted or directed better as he sounds like a total dweeb and not a fearsome leader of the Legion. 4. Why all the BoS genocidal? Yea they weren’t too keen to let ghouls in but they didn’t hunt them down for sports like Tv Show’s do. Hell, Mojave Chapter of BoS even worked with Super Mutants when Marcus was building up Black Mountain. Mojave was very stringent on following the Codex to the tee. 5. All the factions seem wrong in how they’re portrayed. NCR are goodie two shoes. Legion a cannibal dirty tribals, Khans are back again as raiders, BoS are less energy weapon pirates more in common with Enclave than ever before. Enclave still dummy evil after decades of getting their asses kicked for being too evil. Etc.

I agree. Feels like I am watching the Force Awakens of Fallout. This show quite literally feels like a soft reboot of Fallout, mainly the west coast. Even the reaction to the show is just like TFA back when it came out, you’d swear it was the second coming of Christ. The only benefit the show has over TFA is that Fallout was never as mainstream as Star Wars so you have a colossal amount of people being exposed to this world for the first time. So I get it, it all seems very fresh and unique from that point of view. And like The Force Awakens it’s just copying old plots and rehashing them in less interesting uninspired ways. Enclave as big bad again. Brotherhood again. House/NCR/Caesar’s Legion fighting in Vegas again. Leaving the vault to find your family member again. Is there room to retread these elements in interesting ways? Of course but this isn’t Andor this is TFA. Characters even talk in this JJ Abrams mystery box bullshit like way. Like the show is completely averse to any and all exposition whatsoever so you’re left with characters talking in this weirdly vague manner in regard to the world they live in. Not confirming an ending to New Vegas has only amplified this vague-like way the characters speak. All the side characters encountered are dumbasses. Like there’s a lot of kooks in Fallout don’t get me wrong but there’s way too many No-Bark like background characters. Pacing feels off. Geography and how characters traverse also feels off. Not a real good sense of progression or time, characters are just teleporting across the Mojave. Good action comedy show. Love the use of practical effects and the set designers have killed it. Performances are also really killing it as well. Justin Theroux as House eats up every scene he is in. But the plot and worldbuilding are leaving a lot to be desired. It’s been a steady like 6/10 for me.

ChunkStumpmon Mar 30, 2026 +6
It got me to replay new Vegas! I missed upper cutting the heads off of everything with my ballistic fist! 10/10 Also old world blues should get its own spin off
6
BlazeOfGlory72 Mar 31, 2026 +6
Yeah, I don’t know if I trust these numbers. Obviously it’s far from an objective metric, but the discourse around this show is f****** nonexistent. Nobody talked about season 2, not even the haters/grifters. I have a hard time imagining that this was such a hit, yet nobody wanted to talk about it.

Nixilaas Mar 30, 2026 +2
Adaptations of games and anime have had a deservedly bad rep for a while but to have Fallout and One piece adaptions so close together and be absolutely awesome in their own ways is great
2
BenchConscious1003 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Very unusual show. I've watched season one and still haven't been able to decide if I like it.

So Season 3 sooner than later, then? Please?

I had no idea Reacher was this successful. I didnt even think it was particularly good or interesting.
2
redditingtonviking Mar 31, 2026 +4
I’d say Reacher is kind of good guilty pleasure show for people who liked action heroes back in the 80s. It might not be the best show, but dumb fun is still fun
4
RocketLabBeatsSpaceX Mar 31, 2026 +2
It was a really great show. I do wonder how much people that never played the games like though. I obviously played the games and love the series adaptation. It’s fun to see all the things from the gam on the big screen. But I wonder if people that never played the games enjoyed it. Now what I really want, is a good “God of War” series. That game and its storyline were so epic. Please bring Kratos to the big screen!
2
Abs0lutZero Mar 31, 2026 +2
This would be the point where Netflix would cancel the show

Second Season is goated. I heard somewhere that they are going to do insane things for season 3. They had to hold back on a lot of fallout stuff they wanted to do in the beginning, but now they get to let loose.

marineman43 Mar 31, 2026 +1
I never realized Reacher is such a ratings juggernaut, I've never met someone irl who watches it. What's the main demo? Seems like a show my dad would watch probably
1
Saratje Mar 31, 2026 +2
Really mixed. Boyfriend and I both like it. It's high-octane action that doesn't need a lot of thinking and we already have other shows where we do like a deep plot. It's a modern take on no-brained 80's and 90's action, but modernized without the objectionable themes movies had during that era. Sometimes it's fun to shut your brain off instead of every villain nowadays needing an extensive origin story about how tragedy made them who they are as seems to be the trend for a while now, or that's how I feel. It's not particularly good, nor is it bad, but it's a fun binge for us.

Behind season 2 of *Reacher*? Wow. Personally, I checked out of Reacher due to how boring the second season is

reacher season 2 is the one I had trouble finishing. anyway, these numbers are pointless, make good tv please.
1

But they fell 1 place shy of being the #1 season 2, so they can kiss 100% of that bonus goodbye.
1
Lauriev7 Mar 31, 2026 +1
I didn’t care for it. Seemed too slow and soulless
1
Strong-Log-7095 Mar 31, 2026 +1
I've never played the games (or really any video games since I gave up my Genesis in the 90's. Still, I adore Fallout. Its such a fun silly show and everyone "gets" the tone right. If you like fun sci-fi with its tongue placed firmly in its cheek you should definitely check it out. Its a tad gory for some people but even the gore is done in a comedic way most of the time. I enjoyed it so much I looked up the story from the games and if I ever get a video game system I'm definitely going to buy one of them and try it myself!
1
Theblindsource Mar 31, 2026 +1
I'll be fully real, I found the episodes "elsewhere" because the prime ads are unbearable
1
MinotaurGod Mar 31, 2026 +1
Guess it's time for it to get canceled then.

I like Fallout but nothing on Prime should beat that masterpiece that is Marvelous Ms Maisel.

Completely forgot about this show. I liked season 1, season 2 kind of lost me though.
1

It's not that good. Like most shows these days. We are being clowned into believing it's good
1
Some_Appearance_1665 Mar 31, 2026 +1
'Thank god they didn't f*** it up completely ' != 'Good' I found it a chore to watch. Struggling to see what fans are enjoying other than fan service. Sure as hell ain't the storytelling.
1
tfhermobwoayway Mar 31, 2026 +1
I don’t really like this. The Fallout West Coast was such an incredibly unique story. It was one of gaming’s magnum opuses. It was unique, and a great example of what gaming could be capable of. And now it’s going to be primarily a TV show? And the climax of this entire world is 16 episodes of a linear, simplistic story? It should never have been adapted.
1
SellingChocolate Mar 31, 2026 +1
I find this funny only because Reacher season 2 was just so bad. Only thing I remember from it is: “You don’t mess with the special investigators”. If Im remembering correctly it’s said repeatedly through the season and I found it to be so cringe. That being said… let’s go season 4!!
