More serious, obvious, egregious, Constitutional violations from maga bottom feeder krasnov appointees.

Hear me out. Let’s just use the internet while he wastes his time shutting the televisions off for his followers.

TV censorship comes before internet censorship. At this rate, that will be later this year…the US only internet cutoff from the rest of the world.
11
Pepeu_Pepeu Mar 15, 2026 +3
Zackly. No one in my sphere watches network TV anymore.

VariousExternal5189 Mar 15, 2026 +4
I understand your point, but no one, either on the left or right should be given "permission" to trade away anyone's Constitutional rights.
4
ValuableAd3808 Mar 15, 2026 +4
I agree, but we’re past that point and you know it. At this juncture, Americans should be taking protective measures against domestic terrorists and consequences from said administration. This is getting worse very fast. They will take it away if we don’t stand up. This won’t stop, it’s not stopping, and verbose opinions won’t matter in a year when people are starving in the streets.

What happens when the FCC “revokes license”? Like is there a switch they turn off? If someone gets arrested who gets arrested? The CEO? It all seems very symbolic and easy to ignore.

ew73 Mar 15, 2026 +46
I think, this, exactly. Our government has operated for years on the premise of acting in good faith for most of its existence until this administration. The Executive follows the laws and rulings of the Courts, and regulators work because the executive and legislative have delegated their power to those regulators. But it all operates on the notion that people will act in good faith. As soon as the administration stopped respecting those norms, no one else has a reason to respect their authority. FCC revokes the license? Make them stop broadcasting. I double dog dare you.

winnielikethepooh15 Mar 15, 2026 +14
Why do you think they created a separate enforcement/paramilitary organization comprised of their most loyal supporters?
14
TheFoxsWeddingTarot Mar 15, 2026 +7
I spent some time looking it up. It’s a years long process and there are no criminal charges mainly fines and angry letters. They’re mainly symbolic threats and the current administration doesn’t have the patience to actually follow through on them whatsoever.

loveofjazz Mar 15, 2026 +1
You’re not wrong, but I’m wondering if it stays as civilized or if the current administration implements a different, more aggressive approach. These folk have been ignoring rules & laws the entire time. I don’t think they’re sticking with any of the traditional approaches that have occurred up until now.

CoverSuspicious5250 Mar 15, 2026 +2
They threaten a suit. We shud legislate a maximum number of lawsuits one person (or president) can bring before the courts.
2
VariousExternal5189 Mar 15, 2026 +1
Hope you are right. Otherwise the Left can rise up also and organize their own "love" excursion to Halls of congress.
1
eldelshell Mar 15, 2026 +6
TV networks don't own the infrastructure. Those big radio towers belong to someone else. The cable companies are also cutting them off. Maybe DirectTV allows them? Oh, and the "channels" which they use are worth millions. Good luck getting them back after they're sold off. It's like losing your .com domain.
6
TheFoxsWeddingTarot Mar 15, 2026 +2
See the difference with a dotcom domain is that there is actually a somewhat centralized process for cutting it off. Broadcasters would literally have to be taken bit by bit. It’s a completely symbolic threat.
2
VariousExternal5189 Mar 15, 2026 +1
Excellent question. Exactly what steps would this traitor have to take for this to occur?
1
nicspace101 Mar 15, 2026 +29
Love how these brown nosers think. After drumpf is gone, by term or by germ, they'll have a huge target on their back forever.
29
LiteratureMindless71 Mar 15, 2026 +4
No they won't. They will find a way to make sure that the next one they choose, ends up being next. Edit: not that I want that, it's just the way things are going, it doesn't look like anyone would even challenge it.

BizmarkiaNobilis Mar 15, 2026 +22
Does he realize that by literally threatening everybody on earth every minute of every day with his nonsense that nobody gives a flying f*** about him? He got Kimmeled. He was toasted early on.

If they didn’t run such a half thought out, badly planned war, maybe the coverage would be a bit more to their liking

World's easiest lawsuit. This admin has been getting smacked in the courts, and this would be no different. All these receipts pretty much hand them the case.
5
ClacksInTheSky Mar 15, 2026 +6
Why don't they just ignore him? He's not really the FCC chair. The position is essentially vacant, like most of the cabinet and government. He's another simpleton placed there by Trump. It works for the Trump government. They just ignore the courts and law. Why should any of the broadcasters play ball anymore?
6
goldbeater Mar 15, 2026 +8
Are all Republicans corrupt ?no need to answer.
8
ARoodyPooCandyAss Mar 15, 2026 +3
Are we taking receipts on this bullshit? This isn’t a partisan thing this a fundamental foundational American right thing.
3
HMouse65 Mar 15, 2026 +3
How is this not a five alarm fire? Every single news station in the country needs to share this with their audience and declare that the first amendment is under attack.

Imagine when America’s version of Nuremberg trials start .. just saying

FCC is run by whining crybabies with dumpf being the biggest of them all.
2

So broadcast anyway. A license is only useful if you play by the rules.

I hope someone in Congress is collecting all of this, so that this d***** will need to explain his betrayals of the 1st amendment in front of a committee one day.

One day that Carr is going to get impounded.

What about we have guided an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz by government officials when stock market are open and it goes up then retracting it when the market closed, this is called market manipulation. We can't believe one thing anyone in trumps administration says.
1
Bishopjones2112 Mar 15, 2026 +1
This is yet another step towards authoritarianism. It needs to be stopped.
1
Battystearsinrain Mar 15, 2026 +1
Get fucked Carr. Maybe read the first amendment of you know, the Constitution.

not only constitutionally wrong. but given that in a couple of years, we're supposed to be transitioning OTA TV from ATSC 1.0 to ATSC 3.0 (supposedly higher res and also the ability to DRM some channels). And a lot of owners of the affiliates are spending a lot of cash to upgrade their equipment right now, how much would they want to continue their upgrades if they might lose their licenses to broadcast anything at all? and how many rural folks would be affected if they can't get any local news as a result?

Only three more steps and the US is officially the new North Korea or China. Are we great again?
1
Elegant-Waltz695 Mar 15, 2026 +1
Hitler and Castro did that. North Korea, China and Russia control their media too.
1
paulsteinway Mar 15, 2026 +1
"Carr has argued that polls showing widespread distrust of the media support his stance." Widespread distrust of the media is BECAUSE of his stance.

It's real nice reading the headlines this morning where everyone is speculating about Netenyahu. I enjoy the more classic news style , like without the government censors. I believe I'll consider attempts to change that attacks on my freedom.

Keep him tied up with TV censorship. In the mean time, freedom of speech is still alive and well on the Internet. So far, that is…

I hear the Trump administration has ordered a 24 episode series starring Riley Gaines. Riley will have hour long episodes to show off her impressive talent and this will be the government’s replacement series when they pull the license from Networks. At least this is what my people tell me. 😗
