Honestly glad to see a judge tap the brakes on yet another media mega-merger. Fewer owners = worse news. If you can, dust off an antenna and support local independents where they exist.

With the exception of NPR, radio is a right wing cesspool.

Agreed for most network affiliates, but we're talking about independent listener-supported locals (e.g. Pacifica). They're pretty rare to find anymore, all the more reason to support them before they go extinct.

"U.S. District Court Chief Judge Troy L. Nunley made the ruling late Friday afternoon, finding that eight attorneys general and DirecTV were likely to prevail in their legal bid to stop the merger."
Objection! That would be devastating to my case!

The difference here is that the suit was brought by 8 state attorney general’s so not the DOJ. Trump can’t settle it

Thank God. Even if you don't watch the local news this deal will 100% without a doubt affect you, the deal getting blocked and the merger hopefully being dissolved is a best case scenario
