Hello fellow movie lovers!
As the title says, Do you have a short list of movies that you call your “feel good movie list” or “comfort movie list”. This list would be different than just your favorite movie list. As the movies do not have to be particularly good, or even well made. But are a list of movies that are a go to movie, when you just want to put something on that’s easy, you don’t have to use your brain much, and just generally make you happy watching it. I will post my list as an example:
•jumanji - welcome to the jungle
•jumanji - the next level
•dungeons and dragons- honor among thieves
•the super Mario bros. movie
•Palm Springs
•day shift
•out cold
•better off dead
•the nice guys
•detective pikachu
•borderlands
•mortal kombat (2021)
•the flash (2023)
Would be curious to hear some of your lists, and potential add some new movies to mine! 😊
- the princess bride
- clueless
- the lord of the rings trilogy
- the way we were
- now and then

13 Going on 30, Cool Runnings, The Sandlot, The Mighty Ducks, Ocean's Eleven, Bad Moms, A League of Their Own.
ETA: No hate towards the original at all but I'm referring the 2001 version of Ocean's Eleven, by the way. Just throwing it out there to be clear.

I'm not big on Twelve or Eight. They're okay but not my favorite. I like Eleven and Thirteen the best.

I highly recommend Undercover Blues. It’s a 90s comedy set in New Orleans starring Dennis Quaid, Kathleen Turner, Fiona Shaw, and Stanley Tucci. Super fun and easy watch.

Yes! Stanley Tucci as Muerte is my household’s favorite parts of the movie. It’s pretty rare that I find someone who has ever even heard of it!

Since I am 56M, I wholeheartedly suggest any 80s John Hughes movie. I know every word to Weird Science and damn near every word of 16 Candles. So, definitely comfort movies. Good luck!

Your list hits pretty solid - those Jumanji movies are perfect for just zoning out and having fun. My go-to comfort picks would probably be Hot Fuzz, Galaxy Quest, and The Mummy (1999) since they're all rewatchable as hell and dont require any deep thinking
Always end up throwing on Speed or Die Hard too when I just want somthing familiar running in teh background while I'm solving cubes

Hot fuzz is one of mine and my brother favorite movies of all time! So that one is on the favorites movie list lol. Have not watched galaxy quest in many years but I think I was too young to fully understand it. Will have to give its rewatch now that I’m older because I have heard from many people on here that it is a great movie. And of course the mummy is always a banger!
