Fellas, what's your go-to show when your lady isn't home?

Could use some recommendations, I've just finished Paradise and From

Thanks! Just loaded it up, someone shot within 3 minutes. I like it. Also Walton Goggins with an RPG? Why didn't you lead with that 😆

It's one of the few almost perfect tv shows. This, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Shield.

drunkensoup Apr 10, 2026 +2
I'd add the wire to that list ... and delete better call saul and the shield

twstdbydsn Apr 10, 2026 +1
I almost wrote that too. Even f the final season felt off compared to the rest. The show is brilliant.

Why would you not watch that with your lady?

Chataboutgames Apr 10, 2026 +3
Maybe his lady doesn't like rewatching. Mine doesn't.

tetoffens Apr 10, 2026 +5
Yeah, I imagine a lot of ladies would have a great appreciation for Timothy Olyphant's smoldering intensity and good looks.

Perfect “my partner would hate this but I’m obsessed” show. That Elmore Leonard dialogue plus Olyphant’s hat acting should win its own Emmy. Have you done the sequel series yet?

pencilsmasher Apr 10, 2026 +1
Every time I’m sick I rematch the whole series. Don’t like the sequel series as much, but was nice to have a bit more time in that world.

Let’s take about 10-20% off there.

Try showing your wife Shoresy, my experience is that it has a LOT more cross gender appeal than some might assume.

Banshee. Over the top 90s style action and borderline skinemax levels of sex. Antony Starr is great pre-Homelander.

Chataboutgames Apr 10, 2026 +2
Yep, did this and then Warrior. Probably the most obvious show that won't jump across gender lines for a lot of conventional people.

WetBiscut Apr 10, 2026 +5
Deadwood.

I think you should leave. My wife hated cringe comedy.

Lots and lots of Archer

Chataboutgames Apr 10, 2026 +2
I basically never watch TV without my wife when she's home, so when she's gone I always have *something* I'm catching up on. I think I've been catching up on Punisher S2 for like 2 years lol.

For All Mankind. She likes it, but nowhere near as much as I do.

FleetAdmiralCrunch Apr 10, 2026 +1
Have you watched The Expanse? It is like the continuation of For All Mankind.

I Love both, a woman & my husband has zero interest in either. He is not into sci-fi. You know women astronauts exist right? I think you all need to get out more. Gender is a social construct & means nothing unless you let it.
2
FleetAdmiralCrunch Apr 10, 2026 +1
They are both classic and I think the best space sci-fi out there. Not sure what the rest of your comment was about. I made a recommendation to a person.

I'm a woman and loved Paradise. There is no show that is gender specific.

Jack Irish. She’s seen it already. The Young Ones
1
bongohappypants Apr 10, 2026 +1
I give "The Young Ones" a second. I have a car named "Vyv" after Mr. B****** in that show.
1
Sitheref0874 Apr 10, 2026 +1
My occasional quotes from the show go under appreciated by my American wife. She does however use “small….far away” entirely appropriately.
1
Sweegyy Apr 10, 2026
The shows or the movies? Seems to be giving both!
0
Sitheref0874 Apr 10, 2026
All of them. You have to watch them in order.

Shoresy

Why would you not watch that with your lady?
1
Chataboutgames Apr 10, 2026 +3
My wife has developed a massive crush on Shoresey. But it's hard to ignore that pretty much very episode if half montage of gratuitous slo motion half naked women.

Nerd shit. Marvel shows, star wars cartoons (she's cool with the live action ones), invincible, the expanse, arcane... Shit like that.
