That could be a yes! Right now this Republican Party is marching us straight into a totalitarian dictatorship. When that happens, our democracy will be destroyed and this republican administration will be in power for decades. Republicans will definitely be above the law. They will be our masters and we will be simply serfs. Yet, we were warned 10 years ago Trump would do this. Why did nobody believe the experts?

The DoJ is compromised and has been since before Trump ever became president. Decades of Democrats respecting the DoJs independence and Republicans stacking it every way they can. Theres is some degree of intelligence, but the uber wealthy is old money. The money has been passed down generation to generation. Those that hold the wealth today, are not as smart as their predecessors who were themselves, lucky enough to be very right time, right place with what they were born into. The new wealthy are just barely smart enough to hold on to the things that generate that money. They were set from birth. New money uber wealth comes from being lucky enough to have well off parents. Not insane riches, but enough to grow up in the places where you can network with other rich folk. You get into the best schools. You can work on frivolous projects on daddy's dime. Then they use their wealthy network to gain investments. Amazon started as an online bookstore. Little bit of daddy's money, mixed with later investments from your wealthy buddies. (Editting to add: this was during the dot.com bubble, so right place right time kind of thing to add to the luck.) Now look at it. The wealthy stick together. Feudalism never died. It was just rebranded. Zuck has a bunker, so they've definitely thought about it. I think their psychopathic desire to be the wealthiest to ever have lived blinds them to the reality of what happens when the serfs are left very hungry.

Agreed. I’m trying to say that in hindsight I recall the modest mouse album “we were dead before the ship even sank”. There’s a level of sinister cultural denial that has yet to wash all the way off. Even in you saying the news stations should have shouted it. It’s like watching someone fade away from a gunshot and their loved one is yelling about the bleeding, how someone should have stopped it or added more pressure, as if the bleeding was the root cause not the gunshot. But that’s all too much to think about right now. Or when someone you love winds up in an abusive relationship. By the time the first strike lands, there’s already a level of control and testing that emboldened the person to try that and know that they could get away with it. You can frustratedly yell to leave this person objectively, but can’t begin to understand the isolation and dependence that is required for change. The fix was already in. We aren’t getting violated just recently and now no one’s trying to help. For at least ten years, we’ve been getting “negged” and it’s just recently that we’ve been struck for the first time and are realizing the helplessness of our own situation. No amount of backtracking can save you from an unexpected malicious intent. When you hear about sexual assault survivors “blaming themselves” it’s not always that they actually think about everything and conclude that they did something wrong; the actual idea is that survivors will often run through the same thing over and over trying to constantly look for a new explanation. It’s how often they think about it that’s the problem, not a conclusion of responsibility. Survivor mentality idk. Just crazy to think we’ve been groomed for so long
