That's a long wait on the tarmac.

*Ladies and gentlemen, just an update from the cockpit, control tower says we're 3,873rd in line. We'll get moving as soon as possible, thanks for your patience.*

It was actually security that held them up.

Still shorter than some waits I've been in due to runway delays.

Pretty sure Maduro had that all sent to Russia several years ago.

[Baltimore Sun: "US interior secretary announces arrival of $100 million in Venezuelan gold"](https://www.baltimoresun.com/2026/03/09/us-interior-secretary-announces-arrival-of-100-million-in-venezuelan-gold/) From a couple months back.

Ah. Must not have sent all of it and/or it's stuff that's been mined more recently. I remember back during all the election shenanigans and protests back in 2019 that there were reports of gold being sent to Russia.

That's nice, but what would be even nicer is for this administration to do something for *Americans.*

Don't worry as the world's largest oil producer these sky rocketing prices are doing wonders for all the Americans working in the C-Suite of those companies.

This is for Americans. Americans can take a flight through American Airlines to Venezuela now.

Sensitive-Flamingo84 May 1, 2026 +6

Same people are in charge in Venezuela. It was just a soft coup to get the other guy out.

It's crazy that Maduro was stopping US planes from coming in with his telekinesis. You would assume that it was all politics, but no, mind powers.

Probably so a bunch of connected people can steal some stuff from Venezuela or make some shady deals.

I remember when there used to be 5-7 flights a day to Caracas on 757s and A300s.

Been to Caracas twice, would fly to/from Miami. Last time was 2013. Had no idea the flights were even stopped!

New era for US-Venezuela relations? Hopefully it's the start of something new.
