Crazy stalker lady did this to him apparently. That's rough. Hope he's doing okay.

Why would they pick on him of all people.

Bro, look at all the commenters in here making fun of the situation. This world is full of assholes, who knows why people do the things they do

knucklesuck Apr 1, 2026 +222
I love this site but the knee-jerk immediate need to make jokes is what has really killed it for me over the years. It wasn't like that on Listnook originally for a long time. It kills a lot of potential good discussion. Sad

Wrecklessinseattle Apr 1, 2026 +123
You ain’t wrong. It’s like the same 10 recycled jokes and they come so goddamn fast there’s no time to even take in the subject. Just ding dongs looking to get that zinger in before anyone else.
123
Hanz_VonManstrom Apr 1, 2026 +42
I like to guess if the top comment will be either “the front fell off”, “can’t park there mate”, or “to shreds you say?” Sometimes it’s even two of these! Honorable mention is the Simpsons joke about the aurora in principal skinner’s kitchen.
42
yougotthesilver Apr 1, 2026 +24
"And my axe." So lazy. Honorable mention to "Sir, this is a Wendy's."
24
jonnythefoxx Apr 1, 2026 +16
I also choose that guys dead joke
16
yougotthesilver Apr 1, 2026 +7
Oh good lord. Its always the same shit.
7
pants6000 Apr 1, 2026 +1
It used to be the same shit... It still is, but it used to be, too.
1
stoned_meditation Apr 1, 2026 +1
Oh you sweet summer child...
1
KindBass Apr 1, 2026 +18
There's so many "listnookisms" I've seen like thousands of times by now. If most of the people here aren't bots, they might as well be.
18
The-Herbal-Cure Apr 1, 2026 +1
Also it's "you can't park there sir" not mate... So they get it wrong every single time and for some reason it really pisses me off.
1
Glup_Maclunkey Apr 1, 2026 +23
And they all upvote each other so the first serious comment is buried below 10 subthreads. Infuriating.
23
PalindromemordnilaP_ Apr 1, 2026 +1
It's not really the comments, but the upvotes which drive what you see. Unfortunately the same 10 jokes are just what make it to the top. For every stupid joke there's probably 10 well written comments that got buried.
1
Kryptosis Apr 1, 2026 +1
I got -60 yesterday in trees for pointing out the joke made about stripping away our right wasn’t even accurate to the situation. Article was about inhalable thc being banned, jokes about “well I vape and don’t smoke” as if the law mentioned combustion whatsoever. Nope just the headline. These are the same people who never read articles. Just rush to make jokes based off the headline for bottom of the barrel easy karma.
1
The_Ghost_of_BRoy Apr 1, 2026 +1
"Agreed, I can't stand the same f****** 9 jokes being recycled over and over here" "Totally. But are these same 8 jokes really _that_ bad?" "That's a good point. We really don't _need_ more than 7 repeating jokes over and over"... I can't f****** STAND this one, so unfunny and unoriginal and by far my least favorite. And it WILL show up in any thread about drugs or money, without question.
1
Noteagro Apr 1, 2026 +20
And then when you call it out you get one of two responses: 1) “It was a joke, sorry I didn’t think I would need to add an /s” 2) “I remember when people didn’t get so offended on here!” In response to 1, no, you’re an a****** that thinks making “jokes” at someone’s expense is okay. And response to 2, I remember when Listnook wasn’t full of assholes saying stupid shit to be offended about.
20
avocadosconstant Apr 1, 2026 +11
Don’t forget the, “Ah! Downvotes from the Listnook hive mind!” No, there’s no complex conspiracy. People simply didn’t like what you wrote and signaled that to you. You’re not owed any approval. Welcome to life.
11
V1diotPlays Apr 1, 2026 +1
To be fair, each sublistnook is basically a hivemind. It’s still stupid say the most contrarian shit known to man and then cry foul.
1
darioblaze Apr 1, 2026 +21
I called this out under someone’s post about something really sad the other day, and the op was replying to all the jokes trying to be edgy in the news sublistnook. I said something about it and they got rude asf Like I’m sorry I do not find ice warehouses funny, but them folks intend to kill people like me and anyone that’s a lil different.
21
bbmarvelluv Apr 1, 2026 +5
Those type of people love to say they use that dark humor to “cope” with the situation. 🙄 Like what are they coping for? They’re not even involved in the situation
5
Chalkbaggraffiti Apr 1, 2026 +9
The comments aren’t even remotely funny.
9
freudian_nipps Apr 1, 2026 +5
Because people want the upvotes associated with the "clever comment". I'm seeing an uptick of "AI?" comments as well, these tend to be received well by the hordes. Listnook used to be a site where informative and relevant comments to the post were upvoted. It used to be a place where comments took work, hence the "editor" part of "listnookor". Now, no longer, just facsimile of its once honorable origins. Is it due to an influx of a new generation of listnookors who do not understand the site's humble origins? Perhaps those who've come from inferior sites like Tumblr, or Facebook? Or has listnook itself incentivized low-effort comments and jokes? Either way, we are witnessing the slow death of the last frontier of what used to be the golden age of internet, eating itself like a collapsing star.
5
BowsettesBottomBitch Apr 1, 2026 +7
>It wasn't like that on Listnook originally for a long time. I mean, it's gotten more widespread just due to there being more people on the platform now, but the "GOTTA BE QUIPPY" thing has been a mainstay of Listnook for as long as I've been on here, it's baked into the millennial brain. Back then it was mostly just moms spaghetti and I also choose this guy's wife and whatever
7
phildobean Apr 1, 2026 +6
No need for violence. He is not a war criminal. He does seem like a d*****, but great voice and under rated guitarist.

Either the knee jerk jokes or the need to make political jokes in non political topics has killed the vibe for me as well lately
1

1
SoreLoserOfDumbtown Apr 1, 2026 -10
If he was injured in some way the headline would lead with that, and the comments would no doubt be different. In the meantime Listnookor DNA dictates that puns must be made for the acquisition of karma.

snugglelamping Apr 1, 2026 +30
people who go through with these attacks just aren’t rational period. the guy who murdered john lennon had tickets lined up for elton john in case he couldn’t get lennon because he didn’t care who had to die to feed into his untreated mental illness
30
yougotthesilver Apr 1, 2026 +8
He had a whole long list of people that he wanted to kill. Lennon was very easily approachable, and always took time to sign autographs for his fans and chat with them outside of the Dakota. My dad got John's autograph outside of the Dakota in 1979. He signed a copy of his book "In His Own Write." He still has it.
8
KingRabbit_ Apr 1, 2026 +1
Years ago, I got a copy of a signed photo from by a guy who got a signature from Lennon that could very well have been on the day he was shot. He certainly looks like a 1980s Lennon and he had that leather jacket with the fur collar on. No Mark David Chapman in it, though.
1
themodernritual Apr 1, 2026 +1
This doesnt make sense. You got a copy of a signed photo... from by a guy (?)... So the photo is of Lennon but it is signed by the guy who took the photo? But then the signature from lennon is where? On a piece of paper? This whole paragraph broke my brain lol
1
WafflesofDestitution Apr 1, 2026 +1
I'm guessing the Lennon photo they're talking about could be a polaroid that the guy took of Lennon and asked him to sign? Definitely a confusing comment.

IMO4444 Apr 1, 2026 +5
She’s a stalker :((. Found out where he was and followed him there. Scary stuff. He’s not physically injured, at least.
5
PitchforkJoe Apr 1, 2026 +1
Article says the attacker was "known to Buckingham from previous incidents", which sounds pretty stalkerish to me. Importantly, it also says he wasn't injured in the incident!
1
DefinitelyNotAliens Apr 1, 2026 +17
It's not a *good* reason. I want to clarify this. But, he's a highly famous musician. Rumors is one of the most successful albums of all time, he sang and performed some of the most iconic songs of the century, and then had a very public, nasty breakup with the band due to his personality conflicts and drug use. People blamed him for the breakup of Fleetwood Mac. Twice. He's famous, polarizing, and blamed for the fallout. Additionally, he might just be picked because they're obsessive crazy people and he's a public figure. Mentally ill people think famous songs were written for them all the time. So, likely mental illness with public figure who is either the object of their obsession or taking the blame for multiple breakups of Fleetwood Mac.
17
AccordingPop6394 Apr 1, 2026 +1
He has a stalker and a restraining order against her. According to most articles, that is who the attacker it.
1
ThePrussianGrippe Apr 1, 2026 +1
Stalking is not taken nearly serious enough. Another musician was attacked (and killed) by her stalker after a concert a few years ago.
1
2cats2hats Apr 1, 2026 +3
He is the least liked 'popular' member. Not defending those picking on him. My point being, is people have small minds and their courage comes out via anonymity. The band's most hated member is >!Jeremy Spencer.!<
3
yougotthesilver Apr 1, 2026 +4
Yeah. Jeremy went to that same LSD party in Germany at that castle that permanently messed up Peter Green as well. Unfortunately Jeremy got caught up with the Children of God cult, and was never the same since. Edit- apparently Danny Kirwan went to the same ill fated party and was never the same since. Something tells me what they did that night wasnt LSD, or maybe it was some sort of dosed version of it?
4
2cats2hats Apr 1, 2026 +2
Who knows? Nowadays RC, r/researchchemicals is the nickname for similar. Not surprised if mad scientist acidheads tweaking LSD molecules were common back then.
2
yougotthesilver Apr 1, 2026 +2
Oh for sure! 3 out of the 5 members of Fleetwood Mac at the time's only crime was being horny and ill-advised to even set foot in that party. But I can't judge them, they were all in their early 20s at the time.
2
DokterZ Apr 1, 2026 +1
Bob Weston probably in the top 3.
1
Thndrstrike Apr 1, 2026 +1
Was very confused as to why the bassist for Shellac would have ever been in Fleetwood Mac, or hated... Different Bob Weston lol

Why are you joking about this? This is all really fucked up.
6
shikiroin Apr 1, 2026 +1
Because nobody was injured and every day some terrible thing happens that is much worse than this. Humans joke with each other to ease stressful situations. If I don't make jokes I'll go insane.

>Authorities have confirmed the woman is known to Buckingham from ‘past incidents’. So it was a deranged stalker? Also why did they include Big Love when mentioning Fleetwood Mac? I cannot stand that song lol. I wonder if it was AI written because it mentions Tusk and Go Your Own Way multiple times in an article about an attack on Buckingham.
40
TheRealImhotep96 Apr 1, 2026 +15
Because Big Love is literally his live opus, and Tusk and Go Your Own Way were the songs he wrote.
15
FlatTopTonysCanoe Apr 1, 2026 +22
Your question is why did they mention famous songs he wrote when talking about him and the band he wrote them for?

1
lynivvinyl Apr 1, 2026 +1
I would imagine if they got some of the substance off of them they could test it to find out what the hell it was. Also if she was known to him they could possibly make it a little harder for her to get tickets if they just blocked her credit cards and whatnot whenever she tried to buy tickets in future. Granted she could probably just convince somebody else to buy them for her but if they knew her I knew she was a nut job then maybe they wouldn't. I'm not trying to condone that Fleer shit but if they've got it this is a great way to use it you know to keep people like her from going to shows. Edit: Oh shit I just noticed this wasn't at a show but just out in public. I wonder if she found out where he was going to be because of something like a Twitter post or those vultures from that magazine or whatever it is now that fell as celebrities TMZ I think.
1

"former member of fleetwood mac" might be more accurate. Songwriting and guitar legend, sure, formally of fleetwood mac, obviously.

I'm pretty sure all members of a defunct band are former members so I don't think that needs to be specified
