May history crucify A Leatherface Orange, the Fake Hillbilly, MAGA, Peter Thiel, all the millionaires and billionaires in Congress who do nothing but make the Top 1% disgustingly richer. And Fetterman’s 🐵 🫏 can be destroyed with em!

In Fettermans case he has brain damage and should resign.
14
Rich-Pomegranate1679 Mar 25, 2026 +19
I think chalking it all up to brain damage is being too nice. The dude is a scumbag who ran as a Democrat but he's a Republican through and through.

But does he have as much brain damage as Donnie Dementia?

This was pretty obvious growing up in rural areas.  Their entire knowledge comes from blockbuster movies interpretation of history.
7
Cheap-Class3156 Mar 25, 2026 +6
I grew up impoverished in a well known urban area and history wasn’t valued there either. I actually have a Undergrad history degree, so history is near and dear to me. But the revisionist history and the overly religious zealotry has taken a great toll on the world.
6
TehCroz Mar 25, 2026 +1
That, or just what Uncle Daddy and Pee-Paw told ‘em to believe.
1
starliteburnsbrite Mar 25, 2026 +1
While you're right, I was more suggesting that the present is more important than how history remembers these people..if we don't take the country back from them they'll be writing the history books anyways.

And you’re right…but how to go about that? No one wants a France’s Reign of Terror episode…or worse

Ah you guys go right to name calling 😂, classic . But either way common fetterman W . How it’s even possible he’s the only democrat with a shred of common sense is beyond me but keep up the good work my man

Cheap-Class3156 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Here’s what your shred of common sense got us: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/china-has-already-won-the-gulf-war/ar-AA1Zlogg?ocid=socialshare…A Manchurian Candidate for both China and Russia. A bawdy strumpet, if you will. What. A. Wretch!

Cheap-Class3156 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Common sense is a relative concept, it’s not monolithic. Your potus’s face looks like weathered leather that’s of a burnt orange hue. Your vpotus changed his name 5 times and claimed he was from Appalachia when he wasn’t and is actually a child of his privilege that been a useful puppet for the evil demon that is Peter Thiel. Oh facts…Agent Orange is a convicted felon, rapist, failed businessman, and now the worst president ever. Here’s a question for you though: Are you good with Lumpy using the lives of US service members as fodder to enrich his family and the Top 1% and decrepit Congresspersons like Markwayne Mullin and before him, Nancy Pelosi?

i'm having a hard time thinking of any politician who has done as severe a 180 as fetterman.

He's always been very pro-Israel, even before the stroke. > In April 2022, during his Senate primary campaign in Pennsylvania, John Fetterman spoke enthusiastically about his unqualified support for Israel and said he did not consider himself a “progressive” when it came to his views on the Jewish state. > “Whenever I’m in a situation to be called on to take up the cause of strengthening and enhancing the security of Israel or deepening our relationship between the United States and Israel, I’m going to lean in,” Mr. Fetterman, then the lieutenant governor, told Jewish Insider at the time. When it came to far-left Democrats who harshly criticized Israel, he added, “I would also respectfully say that I’m not really a progressive in that sense.” > https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/21/us/politics/john-fetterman-progressive-israel.html

CadetNoob Mar 25, 2026 +14
That, and he’s always been a shitty and selfish person. Just look up when the last time he tried to self-delete himself and see if that date has any connection to people in his family.

They're only hurting themselves for the midterms. This is such a no-brainer for the GOP. Donald Trump is a constitutionally term-limited president, in his last term. He can't run again. Many of these Republican Senators, can. In order to appease to a man who is no longer the future of the party, they're going to light themselves on fire and give Americans more reasons to vote against them in the midterms? That makes absolutely no sense, to me.
53
Quick_Check_9008 Mar 25, 2026 +49
They’re going all in that Trump won’t leave office. That’s what they’re banking on. The way our elected leaders have been doing in staving this off is why they feel so emboldened.
49
ZebraSandwich4Lyf Mar 25, 2026 +26
I mean even if that's true it's still a stupid bet, Trump is already barely functional and constantly a couple of Big Mac meals away from kicking the bucket. He isn't going to be around for much longer one way or the other.
26
Global_Crew3968 Mar 25, 2026 +14
The goal is one party rule
14
yellowjackethokie Mar 25, 2026 +4
There is absolutely no chance he doesn't leave office. He just clocked a 36% approval rating. There isn't anywhere close to enough support to amend the constitution to allow him to legally pursue a third term. He can't legally be on the ballot in 2028. The victor of 2028 does not need the outgoing president's permission to be inaugurated; and as soon as they're inaugurated, the United States military is now under their command. He would be forcibly dragged out of the White House within the first week, if not day, of refusing to vacate.
4
rockerscott Mar 25, 2026 +22
You can’t legally be on a ballot if you have raised an insurrection against the government…yet here we are.
22
yellowjackethokie Mar 25, 2026 +2
You can thank Jack Smith for that. In the United States you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Because it took Smith so long to bring it to trial (never actually making it to trial before the election), he was never convicted and was therefore legally eligible to run.
2
rockerscott Mar 26, 2026 +1
There were a lot of failures in the safeguards that have been flaunted as the key to our perfect democracy. Biden appointed Garland as if he was owed something for Senate shenanigans 4 years prior. In an attempt to appear apolitical Garland failed to adhere to his duties to uphold the law. It’s unprecedented but probably not a good idea to allow a judge appointed by the defendant make decisions on any matter. The Supreme Court blocked Colorado from removing Trump from ballots due to his insurrection even though the Constitution does not require a conviction of the same to be disqualified.
1
Quick_Check_9008 Mar 25, 2026 +10
With all due respect you’re living on copium. Everything that’s happened in the year alone should’ve been the big IF and nothing came out of it. Whiskey Pete discussed war plans in an unauthorized messaging service. Donald Trump illegally engaged in a war with Iran without congressional approval. we keep acting like we have safe guards. The more I look it and the more many Americans look at it, we have effectively none. The way things are heading I don’t they exist. This whole idea of voting out of this mess is wishful thinking at best.
10
yellowjackethokie Mar 25, 2026 -1
No I'm not. Pretending like he will simply stay after his term ends is delusional. He has nowhere close to enough institutional support for that. The military complies with his order because he is the Commander-in-Chief. In January 2029 (or sooner) someone else will be the Commander-in-Chief and the military will comply with their orders. Of such orders will be to remove the squatter from the people's house. They will comply. Even the election deniers in uniform will not be able to refute the fact that he has had two full terms, the maximum allowed under the constitution that they swore an oath to uphold. Breaking with their current command structure (the newly sworn in president) to stick up for the last guy could constitute treason (mutiny). Any who try would be dealt with swiftly and harshly from within the military structure. There is zero chance the US military allows themselves to break into a civil war over his decrepit dementia ridden ass.
-1
JaeTheOne Mar 25, 2026 +2
Do you realize how many laws he has broken in the last year?
2
International-Low-25 Mar 25, 2026 +4
what happened when he was told to leave last time?
4
FLHCv2 Mar 25, 2026 +1
Not that I think this would happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if Vance runs as president with Trump as his VP, then Vance steps down.
1
SpanningTreeProtocol Mar 25, 2026 +2
He's not eligible to be a VP in another administration either. But now we have NO guard rails, and the Constitution is just a bunch of letters, words, and numbers.
2
FLHCv2 Mar 25, 2026
>He's not eligible to be a VP in another administration either. Wait - why do you say this? I thought it was more of a constitutional question that hasn't been answered yet, like this abstract points out [https://digitalcommons.law.uga.edu/fac\_artchop/1012/](https://digitalcommons.law.uga.edu/fac_artchop/1012/)

Trump doesn't disappear at the end of his term even if he does leave office. We saw him pull the strings of the party from 2021-2024. He killed the immigration deal with a single tweet. He has the republican voters and party by the balls until the day he dies. His daughter runs the RNC. We will deal with the cultural rot of maga for the rest of our lives.
6
yellowjackethokie Mar 25, 2026 +6
>Trump doesn't disappear at the end of his term even if he does leave office. We saw him pull the strings of the party from 2021-2024. He killed the immigration deal with a single tweet. That was because he had the prospect of a second term. He was technically still the future of the party. After his second term, none of that applies. >He has the republican voters and party by the balls until the day he dies. His daughter runs the RNC. We will deal with the cultural rot of maga for the rest of our lives. I strongly disagree. He will be just some old guy who is left with a fractured base because of his many broken promises and scandals. Lara Trump is no longer the co-chair of the RNC. None of the Trumps are. As soon as the US House flips in the midterms, you will begin to see mass "disobedience" even though he is still in the White House, he will be a lame duck with no future runs ahead of him. GOP Representatives, Senators, and Governors will begin to go rogue and act on their own self-interests.
6
Independent_Tea_33 Mar 25, 2026 +1
Did not know about lara trump's moves and I really do wish/hope you're right. However I don't see any of his control over republicans as coming from his presidential power. This is a little bit true in other cases, where former presidents like obama hold significant sway even after being out of politics. Republican politicians are owned by the donors and voters. I can't speak to the donors but the voters are still absolutely still part of the trump cult whether hes in power or not. He can endorse or condemn from his social media. He tells them right and wrong. He tells them what to think. He is their literal god and thought leader. I thought after 2020 the curse would have been broken. He was a loser and out of power and gave the dems a trifecta. None of that happened, not a single maga stepped out of line, they just ramped up the denial and extremism.
1
PoniesRBitchin Mar 26, 2026 +1
Everyone he endorses loses. He never does what he promises to do. He never pays what he owes. This loser has NOTHING to give, and I don't understand how senators can't see that.

They could absolutely do more. Fetterman should be censured but Dem establishment is also bought and paid for by AIPAC, so Fetterman taking the hit while they pretend like they're actually doing something is the game. Edit: this is why we have do nothing, corporate Dems who don't serve their constituents yet keep their God damn jobs til their rotting husks. So many of you are fully willing to accept the bare minimum and support this farce of an "opposition." We deserve all that we get.
128
Toxitoxi Mar 25, 2026 +83
Fetterman’s vote doesn’t actually matter here because there are 53 Republicans in the Senate. If Fetterman voted with the other Dems, it would be 48-52. Even if you got two more Republican Senators to defect, the tie-breaking vote belongs to JD Vance. It’s kinda crazy how people don’t *get* that the Senate is Republican-controlled.
83
Open_Mortgage_4645 Mar 25, 2026 +70
The issue with Fetterman isn't really about the results of the vote. It's more about his continuous betrayal of the party he belongs to, and his alignment with Trump on virtually every vote. I think most people understand that Fetterman's vote didn't make the difference on this issue.
70
fred11551 Mar 25, 2026 +11
What bothers me the most is people condemning all democrats because of Fetterman’s feckless ass. Suggesting we shouldn’t support Talarico because Fetterman votes with republicans. Or though they won’t actually say it because it reveals that they just want democrats to lose, extending their logic we shouldn’t vote for AOC because Schumer supports Israel. When you say ‘never vote for democrats again’ that includes AOC, Mamdani, Tallarico and more. By all means never vote for Fetterman again. Never vote for Schumer again in New York. But should people in Georgia not vote for Stacy Abrams because of this?
11
Logician22 Mar 25, 2026 +6
AIPAC funded candidates need to be voted out from office all of them on both sides of the aisle
6
Toxitoxi Mar 25, 2026
The funniest part is that Fetterman was the progressive darling before his heel turn.
0
WhiskeyT Mar 25, 2026 +1
Don’t forget Tulsi, she’s a little further down the road of her “totally-rad-progressive-not-just-anti-dem-I swear to MAGA” journey
1
Toxitoxi Mar 25, 2026 +1
I remember Kyrsten Sinema.
1
Codipotent Mar 25, 2026 -11
Then have Pennsylvania recall him. That’s the path here. Vote in non corporate Democrats to help shape the party. But when those progressives lose their primaries, we have to work with what we got. It sucks, but everyone needs to get involved. There’s like a handful that run in the primaries. If you aren’t seeing the change in the party that is needed, then get your name on that list and help create the movement. But complaining that more conservative Dems are who the citizens are putting forward won’t change anything. It just gives folks a reason to be apathetic about the process.
-11
Coconutrugby Mar 25, 2026 +27
There’s no ability for the voter to recall in Pennsylvania.
27
Thrown_Account_ Mar 25, 2026 +14
States can't recall federal regardless.
14
Codipotent Mar 25, 2026 +5
That sucks. Seems crazy a candidate can just flip on their values like that and citizens have to just put up with it for the full term.
5
Coconutrugby Mar 25, 2026 +3
Just go full maga run for office. When you win take off the red hat. If you lose smile.
3
Leoszite Mar 25, 2026 +1
Just do it. How many times has this admin done something that has no mechanism in our democracy or just broken the law all together. It's time for Dems to play rough.
1
TheJonasVenture Mar 25, 2026 +1
This isn't like "well he can't fire that specific person, but he can fire people in general", this is "no mechanism exists by which to do that".
1
Thrown_Account_ Mar 25, 2026 +9
There is no federal recall. Even California that has recall can only use it on State level offices. It would require a constitutional amendment to get federal recall mechanisms.
9
Codipotent Mar 25, 2026 +3
I see thank you for the correction
3
jakegh Mar 25, 2026 +2
Fetterman is hardly a "corporate" Democrat, that's nonsense. He ran as a moderate liberal and votes as a moderate MAGA. He betrayed his constituents.
2
Fast_past3600 Mar 25, 2026 -5
Hindsight is 20/20 but how Fetterman was seen as better than the odious Dr. Oz is beyond me. He couldn't campaign and stood at the podium during debates saying and doing nothing. He gets elected and doesn't attend committee meetings, procedural voters and participate in caucus required sessions. He's missing key votes all of the time on the basis of vague excuses. But suddenly now people are miffed with Fetterman? He's a joke. Oz was a carpetbagging, snake oil salesman, but he could actually campaign. Fetterman had no central thesis; he had really no strategy. It felt like he was the small-town, anti-Oz and that's what prevailed. I never liked Fetterman and the fact that I feel like I'm being proven right fills me with glee.
-5
UnstableMabel Mar 25, 2026 +5
Dr. Oz was a snake oil salesman with no political experience. There was no reason to believe he would work in America's interest. And would you look at that, we were right! He's now using CMM as a cudgel against blue states and will likely gut both medicaid AND Medicare eventually. I don't know if you have a sense of how many people will die because of this, but it's going to be a lot. So, no, Dr Oz was clearly not a better choice
5
TheJonasVenture Mar 25, 2026 +2
Yeah, even now, Fettermen sucks, he should be voted out, he betrayed his campaign, he is, no contest, better than if Oz had one. Fettermen does mostly vote with the Democrats, he splits on very key issues, which is why he should be voted out, because of the issues he splits on, but he votes with Dems more than Oz would have.
2
UnstableMabel Mar 25, 2026 +1
We need a Lemon Law for politicians.
1
Torden5410 Mar 25, 2026 +2
Decades of republicans being able to obstruct democrats when democrats have control really makes the idea that democrats can't do anything unconvincing. Nobody is expecting dems to somehow pass legislation or successfully impeach anyone one when they don't have the numbers to make that possible. What people are expecting is that dem leadership work as hard as they can to obstruct the republicans after campaigning on slogans like "democracy is on the line." People don't like that Schumer and Jeffries don't act with urgency, and only seem concerned that republicans don't ask permission for all the illegal and immoral things they do. People expect dems to stop voting to confirm Trump appointments.
2
SadhuSalvaje Mar 25, 2026 +6
This gets into the central problem: the republicans obstruct the democrats attempt to pass legislation…but what actual legislation have the republicans actually tried to pass that was capable of being obstructed? Remember, unlike the Republicans, Democrats actually want a functioning government. They want agencies to function and they want workers to get their paychecks. My understanding is the democrats ARE correctly obstructing the funding of DHS, but in the case of this vote there is not much they can do other than…vote. This isn’t like a parliamentary system where Fetterman can be thrown out of the party or anything
6
Torden5410 Mar 25, 2026 +1
And the obstruction of funding to dhs is good! Don't get me wrong on that. But also people remember that Schumer caved on the last shutdown in exchange for nothing. Two dems voted to confirm Mullin as secdef. Only a few like Chris Van Hollen visibly fought for their constituents detained by ICE. There are lots of things they can do that isn't voting that many seem content on avoiding.
1
Toxitoxi Mar 25, 2026 +6
The Democrats are obstructing the Republicans. That is what the current shutdown is about. They are refusing to allow a blank check for ICE.  However, they can’t pass legislation with a minority. So they can’t pass legislation to stop the executive branch from waging war with Iran. The repeated attempts to bring this to the floor are theater and a way to tie Republicans to the war. And it is much harder to obstruct cabinet appointments than spending decisions because the filibuster doesn’t apply there. Even if all the Democrats and Independents vote against, you need 4 Republicans to defect. The filibuster needed to die years ago and there are plenty of other things to critique the Senate Democrats for, but I really don’t understand why people expect the Democrats to be the ones in control after we voted out the Democrats. This is the government America wanted. The minority party isn’t going to be calling the shots.
6
FrogsOnALog Mar 25, 2026 +19
Censure requires a majority and democrats are in the minority. Why would republicans help censure the guy voting with them? Also it would do f*** all to stop him from voting on things lol Edit: corporate dems who get to keep their spot…Fetterman has not been up for reelection yet…
19
NCSUGrad2012 Mar 25, 2026 +12
For real. If they censure him today it literally changes nothing, lol
12
jetpack_operation Mar 25, 2026 +10
Do you even understand how censuring works, or why a majority censuring someone hits completely differently than a minority doing it? "Bare minimum" isn't the enemy. You know what is, tho? Setting us back f****** decades because some of you are too busy playing "quick, blame Democrats" to reckon with what Republicans are actually doung. Progress is grinding the baseline forward inch by inch *and doing the bare minimum(s) to stay there* before the next inch. But sure, let's throw that away because "bare minimum" isn't "enough".
10
voodoodahl Mar 25, 2026 +1
No they don't know how anything works, but they're still going to yap confidently on the internet. We've got thousands of bots and even more useful idiots helping them.

Snagglespoof Mar 25, 2026 +16
Republicans do something. Quick. Blame democrats
16
notfeelany Mar 25, 2026 +10
> So many of you are fully willing to accept the bare minimum I mean Voters ALSO did not even do the bare minimum, which is vote for Democrats last 2024. The Democrats are in the minority because THE VOTERS kicked them out of power. If Dems took voters for granted, Then voters took the fantastic freedoms, government services, peace, and stable economy that a Democratic govt afforded to them for granted, too. And now those same voters are seeing their neighbors, relatives being taken away to who knows where, for no reason. Jobs are still being cut, and govt services they heavily rely on are being slashed, etc. It's actually acceptable to protest the party in power, which is the Republicans. This is actually on us the voters FIRST to fix by voting Democrats their rightful place back: veto-proof majorities in Congress and then the Presidency.
10
Mr_Waffles123 Mar 25, 2026 -6
The voters aren’t doing anything by voting for either party…
-6
globalvarsonly Mar 25, 2026 +3
I have the very unpopular opinion that if Harris had more popular policies, she would have gotten more votes, but we're not supposed to talk about that. Trump is f****** up, but the dems aren't pushing any opposing vision of what should replace his shit show. Their healthcare plan is the same as his: "Its a very serious issue and we're definitely looking at that very strongly"
3
Thrown_Account_ Mar 25, 2026 +17

Sure did something when the GOP censured Cheney, but go on.
-19
politicsranting Mar 25, 2026 +11

SadhuSalvaje Mar 25, 2026 +5
What did it actually do? If she had been reelected their censure wouldn’t mean anything.
5

What was the something that it did and how would the impact help immediately (or even in the long run)?

Every comment in the chain prior to yours was talking about the present, and my comment addressed both the present and the past (last time they had a majority), and you're wrong regardless of whichever time frame you're talking about. So why are you lying about the Democrats doing nothing when everytime the voters give them the power, they enact policies that help massive swaths of the American people?
3
Happy_Feet333 Mar 25, 2026 +11
You're told that Democrats have little power outside of their voices when they are not in power. And to you, that means they have no power when they are in charge? Amazing.
11
Patsanon1212 Mar 25, 2026 +5
"they could absolutely do more" you say followed by nothing. Okay, censuring Fetterman would be a good gesture for the Dem base, but how does it do more to stop the war? You lament how people accept too little but have not a damn thing of value to offer. How are we accepting too little if there seemingly isn't even more that we could expect here?
5
Deus_is_Mocking_Us Mar 25, 2026 +1
Looking back, I think Citizens United actually did more damage to the Democratic Party than the GOP. The GOP was already bought and paid for, but now the Dems are, too.
1
thatnameagain Mar 25, 2026
What would censuring Fetterman do? Nothing at all?
0
Kamamura_CZ Mar 25, 2026 -9
Why would they do more? They are paid from the same purse. The whole US political scene is like a ventriloquist with two sock puppet. How can you take this penny spectacle seriously?
-9
blazesquall Mar 25, 2026 +5
It's theater... Even if passed, it needs to be veto proof. War Powers Acts always fall along party lines. There's no interest in fixing that.
5
guttanzer Mar 25, 2026 +6
I'm encouraged by the activity. I wish they would step it up a notch. Its time for leading Democrats like Schumer to demand impeachment proceedings for Trump. It's not as if there are no reasons: 1) Unilaterally and illegally (no imminent threat) starting wars? Iran is the ninth country he has attacked since taking office. Next month it's going to be 10, when he attacks Cuba. 2) All the grift. How does anyone get $3B richer in a year? 3) Using the power of the presidency for personal vendettas. DOJ, DHS, and IRS were never meant to be his his fixers. 4) His failure to see that the laws be faithfully executed. DOGE was completely unconstitutional. He can't just cancel programs that Congress has authorized. Those are all grave high crimes. Leadership is telling the folks in the caucuses to just ssshh and lay low. We need new leadership. Sternly worded letters and floor speeches are not cutting it. It doesn't matter that the impeachment efforts won't win; the Democrats have a duty to raise them. His grave abuses of office need to be front page news every frick'n day. It takes a lot to reach the average US voter. Once they connect their deteriorating lives with Trump's abuse of office real impeachment will be on the table as an option.
6
Moccus Mar 25, 2026 +19
The main reason not to impeach right now would be that Democrats aren't in charge of the House, so they can't run proper impeachment hearings that would fully investigate everything. We all know an impeachment is just going to die quickly in the Senate, so if you're going to go through the effort to impeach, then it's important to air all of the dirty laundry in the House before it goes to the Senate. That's the only way you're going to reach people and make them aware of all of the wrongdoing going on.
19
guttanzer Mar 25, 2026 -9
You’re making my point. It will stay a futile effort as long as Democrats self-censor by only discussing it inside caucus meetings. The debate needs to be in public, at kitchen tables. That won’t happen until Democratic leadership forces it by doing NEWSWORTHY stuff, like waving articles of impeachment in the air. It doesn’t matter that this is a futile gesture now; if they do it it won’t be futile later. I remember Watergate. The Republicans in Congress stone-walled for years until suddenly they didn’t. The next thing we knew Nixon was waving from a helicopter. The Republicans in Congress now can read a mob sentiment too. They will bend.
-9
Moccus Mar 25, 2026 +13
There's not going to be any real debate as long as Democrats don't control the House. Even if they managed to introduce articles of impeachment and somehow get it passed in the House, it would immediately go to the Senate and die in about 5 seconds. It would be in the news for about that long as well. People would forget almost instantly and wave it off as another pointless exercise. It would make it even harder to do an actual impeachment later once the Democrats regain the House.
13
FrogsOnALog Mar 25, 2026 +10
Democrats have impeached him twice before and it’s done nothing. People just want to be mad at them about something.
10
guttanzer Mar 25, 2026 +1
You're talking about a parliamentary minuet that would only show up on Tuesday afternoon in a C-Span feed. I'm suggesting that Democratic leadership send every house and senate member out into their districts to give speeches on the need to impeach. I'm suggesting that leadership coordinate these speeches so that everyone is hitting the same two or three impeachable acts. I'm suggesting a blizzard of op-ed pieces, tours on late-nite TV,. I'm talking about making tik-tok videos so compelling that clueless 12 year olds start teaching each other the impeachment dance. These approaches are not the same.
1
fred11551 Mar 25, 2026 +3
Democrats have introduced impeachment articles three times since he got reelected. Republicans have voted against them each time. Until democrats control the house, impeachment can not proceed. And even then they would need 2/3 of the senate to convict
3
guttanzer Mar 25, 2026 -1
Ok, fine. And that was done with the blessing of leadership? After a concerted effort by leadership to explain to the public why impeachment was neccesary? I remember Jefrees and Schumer whipping votes to suppress the impeachment efforts. And I only knew of this because I'm a political junkie that follows the hill closely. The Democrats are only handcuffed because like good submissives the are cuffing themselves. I'm tired of the myopia of old men that have spent most of their working lives inside the halls of Congress. The Democratic party needs new leadership.

Does it feel like we're winning? They can be way better than they are. Remember when the dems caved and funded ICE during the last shut down? Remember the ACA subsidies that still failed? Now ICE is running our airports and got to practice a massive mobilization. F*** the current dem leadership. They're useless. I'm glad you're proud of them for voting against a war - the barest of minimums.

The Republican know this is an illegal war. Trump hasn’t ask Congress anything. He is a dictator with no checks. Our economy is doing horrible and prices keep going up and up. Lettermen is a pedophile lover and is loving the presidents shit smell. He needs to be put out of Congress . The blue wave is coming so get out and vote!!!
3
Thrown_Account_ Mar 25, 2026 +8
Doesn't matter it would get veto anyways and they can't get 50% let alone the 66% needed to override. If Trump even would let them have a veto override chance and not pocket veto.
8
Moccus Mar 25, 2026 +6
He wouldn't be able to pocket veto. Congress isn't going to adjourn any time soon.

Commondreams is just hackery at this point. A bill narrowly passed isn't going to stop this war. It would be vetoed immediately. Fetterman is trash but realistically, this war became a reality in November 2024 when the American people gave our military to a madman.
2
axpiota59 Mar 26, 2026 +1
i’m more convinced now that someone has a video of Fetterman with a chicken. No doubt

I know my opinion here will probably get downvoted, but I don't think pulling out now will do anything. Iran has already stated the strait will be closed even if the US pulls out. The oil crisis is here and there's nothing the US can do to stop it. I also don't think diplomacy is possible as long as Trump is President. This is the President that: 1. ripped apart the nuclear deal 2. killed their top general 3. killed their supreme leader 4. used peace negotiations as a decoy for war Our current options now are to try to remove Trump as President and hope Iran is open to negotiations or to commit to a war against the strongest country the US has ever fought against.
2
lord_dentaku Mar 25, 2026
While I agree with your general sentiment, I feel you are overestimating Iran's military prowess. Their military from a purely headcount perspective is smaller than Iraq's was in 1990 (and is split between IRGC and the standard military that aren't devout supporters) and their traditional military equipment outside of missiles is almost entirely wiped out or extremely outdated. They do have massive stockpiles of missiles and drones, which is pretty much their only lever at this point, but their launcher capabilities and manufacturing capabilities are being degraded. But we're in it at this point, and the only way past it is through it. It is extremely unlikely Iran would negotiate even if Trump was removed from office, they have always hated the US (since '79), and they always will until there is regime change, and acting nice to them won't change it. Right now they think they have the upper hand, but they've played their only real card by harming the oil markets and that damage isn't going to be undone until either the US fully withdraws from the region (not going to happen) or their ability or will to fight is crushed. Our path was locked in the moment Israel decided to do a decapitation strike. Even if we hadn't done a preemptive strike on their missile launchers they would have still used the Israeli strike as an excuse to launch on our bases, except their capabilities would have been at 100% and been harder to defend against.

shortsteve Mar 26, 2026 +1
It has little to do with their military prowess and more to do with the 92 million Iranians and the fact they're being supported by both Russia and China. This war is the perfect opportunity to deal serious damage to the US. Russia and China will support Iran in any way they are lacking.

Can’t PA recall that braindead knuckle dragging sack of turds? He’s not what they voted for so is acting in bad faith. Can’t PA voters create a petition & get enough signatures to force a special election to recall their senator? If such an option doesn’t exist in their state constitution then petition to add an amendment for such. I don’t know much about state laws outside of CA (as I’m never leaving CA except to leave the country) but I do remember when CA recalled former Gov. Grey Davis and the election for that.

There a a lot of obsession with Fetterman. There are probably 20 democrats that would be willing to be the rotating villain and are grateful that Fetterman is the only one that has to consistently vote R.
1
Toxitoxi Mar 25, 2026 +1
The vote was 47 to 53. If Fetterman voted for the bill, it would be 48 to 52.  The “rotating villain” narrative stops making sense when the Republicans win regardless of whether the “rotating villain” votes one way or the other. You just struggle to accept that the party in control of the senate, house, and executive is probably going to be determining policy.
1
randomstring09877 Mar 26, 2026 +1
So what’s your point? My point is still the same. There is probably 20 more democrats willing to vote like Fetterman.

I hope the Iran war keeps going because this is destroying Republicans chances in Midterms and 2028. Gas prices is the only thing MAGA cares about. And let’s be honest it’s keeping Cuba safe because that is who we’re invading next
1
NotSure16 Mar 25, 2026 +1
Well I think the gameplan for Cuba is to force an artifical famine and humanitarian crisis... then sweep in as (White) American savors to help them recover from a crisis America facilitated. Even without Iran I think Trump would still be waiting to invade Cuba as they haven't yet reached the "we must save them" level of despair. That said, I'm sure the 🍊 🤡 has already reviewed plans for his soon-to-be Trump Towers - Havana project. 😔

Let's say for a moment that I entertain the theory that TDS is real. You say TDS isn't winning elections? I see several special elections that Dems have flipped in Trump's backyard that say otherwise.
9
ConditionHoliday2844 Mar 25, 2026
All 3 branches are in GOP control rn. Sure the pendulum swings. Dems should have been preparing for a massive wave, but are blowing it. Might take awhile to make any significant gains for Dems. Clearly Fetterman understands this. TDS is real.
