It feels like having a living library that also sneaks you snacks.

I have one left. My grandma on my mom's side. Ill be down to 0 within the week. I am so thankful for the time I had with her. She was nothing short of a blessing in my life and one the kindest people Ive ever met. Christmas this year is gonna be tough.
Call your grandparents more often. There'll be a day you wish you had

If you have them, please take a moment to call or visit your grandparents. It means the world to them and there will be a day that you miss them like crazy.

It's like watching someone get worse and worse over time until the last time I talked to my grandmother before she went on hospice, she barely remembered me. It was if she ran into a coworker she hadn't seen in years and only remembered snippets of info after thinking long and hard about it

My grand parents had my parents when they were young, and my parents had me when they were young. So my grand parents are only in their early 70's.
One side is very bewildered by the state of the world, and calls me to talk about what she thinks the future might look like. My grandparents on the other side of the family are retired and go on cruise ships every other month.

Honestly, scary. They are just from a different damn time and don’t understand what Ai is and they just believe the shit they see on their facebooks. They believe people are still decent, like 1950s decent “nice” people, and don’t believe in anything you tell them about how horrible and exploitative people are (politicians, insurance fraud/scams, the friendly neighborhood pedos, etc.) they’re all just “people trying to make it” per my grandma- it’s f****** scary.

I don't know. I can ask some other people in their 30's who still have living grandparents, though.

One of my grandmothers is still alive, and I love it! We don't live near each other, and I have a lot of kids, but we will see each other and talk about stuff.

Well, they've all passed, but my grandmother was still alive in my early 30s and my great-uncle passed away a couple years ago just shy of a century.
My grandma had late stage dementia. Some days better than others, but none were really great. She picked up an affinity for hand-held snacks like donut holes or bite sized candy.
My great-uncle retained his faculties all the way to the end but was a bit terrified because he knew his body was shutting down. That said, he planned everything in advance- his will, where he was going to be buried, as well as his funeral- all the songs were old Big Bad stuff from the 1940s.
When the service was over, the pastor reminded everyone that there would be a generous lunch served and to make sure we all went. My great-uncle was at a funeral the year before where all they had was cookies, and he was adamant that he wasn't going to have that happen at his own going away. And, yes, the lunch was indeed generous.

My last living grandparent died when I was 30. My parents were in their 50’s and still had living grandparents…

It's tough. She is horrifically depressed, is battling ALS, and has lost all ability to verbally communicate. I'm watching her slowly, and quickly, suffocate to death.

Well, I'm +++.
My grandmother and I were very close! I don't think I could have done it without her.
And, I was really lucky as she lived into her mid 90's. I was 50 when she passed. Yup, really lucky!

It's a little awkward, it's kind of fun places the prop him up every now and then. We had put him behind the laundry room door next the old ironing board that hangs on the wall. I don't know what happened. But the dog ran through. I'm knocked over the ironing board. It's ellen to grandpa, he broke his index finger right off. Now we did find that if you use a couple of cans of rostollion, clear spray paint, give em a real good coating. It helps a lot with the dust and works really good for the hairspray application. I decided I was gonna start a tradition. This year, so about a month before Christmas. I think I'm gonna mail him to one of my siblings. Just so he shows up there unannounced. You know, maybe they'll keep Em for a year and mail him to someone else. The next christmas wonder how much it costs to mail a five foot three stuffed person, I bet the taxidermist.Who did it will know?I ought to give them a shout
