30 years on Death Row and the case was a disaster. Prosecutors hid evidence. The system is broken.

The legal system often treats innocence as procedurally subordinate to rules about timing, jurisdiction, and finality. A famous example is Herrera v. Collins. The Supreme Court held that a claim of “actual innocence” by itself is generally not enough for federal habeas relief absent an independent constitutional violation. Justice Scalia went even further in concurrence, suggesting the Constitution does not necessarily forbid execution of a person who had a “full and fair” trial even if later evidence suggested innocence. But, hey, 'Merica is the greatest country on Earth because we allow a handful of people to become extremely wealthy. Or something.

Hope he wins and sues the state. Fucked up that they let him rot for 30 years that way.

I do too. But even if he successfully sues the state, the amount he will get will be a joke.

Here’s a $25 gift card for Kohl’s and a two year old Almond Joy we found in a drawer. We’re not sure how much is left on the card.

Is it wrong that theres a small part of me that hopes he kills while out on bond but he kills one of the guards or prosocuters that kept him there for 30 years.
