Mississippi is the poorest state in the country. They aren't well run and clearly not good with finances and some people take advantage of that.

Hey, that's a great question and I'm happy to provide the answer to you. When a defendant is acquitted, it means that the prosecutor was not able to prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt, to the satisfaction of a jury.

A person was acquitted but it doesn't mean a crime didn't occur. Money *was* stolen--it just may not have been by the person accused.
The comment was simply stating, in general, the crime of stealing money intended to feed the poor seems especially cruel. That's pretty hard to disagree with.

Wait what? He was very clearly guilty. Not only is it flat out pathetic to steal those funds, it’s a miscarriage of justice not to convict him. The evidence was more than enough for him and his junky brother to do time.

To be clear, this is not the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. This is his son, who was also a wrestler and whose biggest claim to fame was being in a faction with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. I don’t think Ted Sr. was implicated in this

To promote "united harmony" after the north won, meaning the northern states forgave the southern ones for causing such disaster and murder to bring peace. Except the south still hated the north and continued to display Confederate signs and statues of union leaders.

And acquitted by a jury. If you read the article, you'll see a bunch of white people pled guilty and will get their own punishment. Both that ends your racist narrative.

10
ThePensionerMar 22, 2026

Let’s be real. There was $2m in funds that were in question in this case, over $70m in total from the entire lawsuit. DiBiase Jr. is so far the only one to face trial, so everyone else either plead guilty or weren’t charged altogether. When you’re the only one standing trial and others already mentioned have admitted guilt, it’s not a good look from the jump. Add on top of that the public fraud in the poorest state component along with the Christian charity connection and it’s not that hard to see why this man lost in the court of public opinion.
6
Geth_Mar 22, 2026

The crime is pretty abhorrent and most people assume where there's smoke, there's fire.
Also, when the famous and/or wealthy are acquitted, people tend to assume those things, instead of actual innocence, were the reasons for an acquittal (regardless of whether or not that's accurate).
