The charges are basically to do with training Chinese military pilots in South Africa from 2010 - 2012, particularly how to land on short runways like on an aircraft carrier for example. There is a ‘conspiracy to commit money laundering’ charge also.

>A T-2 Buckeye aircraft was purchased from a U.S. aircraft dealer for this training, by providing false information that resulted in the U.S. government issuing an export licence. That was the Navy/Marine corp intermediate training aircraft until 2008. There's no way he could pass this off as "I thought I was training civilians" Americans can't conceive that their citizens want to leave the country forever, so renouncing citizenship is made very difficult. They will hang him out to dry, especially the current leadership. Only the boss is allowed to help the enemy.

Exactly. I mean they were specifically military pilots he was training. He is looking at serious jail time.

I doubt they were wearing PLAN uniforms at the time. If they were training with bush planes, he could claim they looked like bush pilots needing STOL training.
