>Among those who penned letters of support was Van Jones, a CNN correspondent and former adviser to President Barack Obama. He described Daedone as “a woman of uncommon wisdom, grace and moral courage” who has “dedicated her life to helping others find healing, empowerment and a deeper sense of human connection.” >Actor Richard Schiff, of the television series “The West Wing,” wrote that Daedone was deserving of the court’s leniency because she has “spent her life trying to bring compassion, awareness, and honesty to a part of human experience that is often shamed or misunderstood.” Haven't these people learned from Ashton Kutcher? Keep your mouth shut. Now we know Van Jones and Richard Schiff are into this. Oh and it gets worse. >Prominent attorney Alan Dershowitz has said he’ll also seek a pardon from President Donald Trump for Daedone and Rachel Cherwitz, the company’s former sales director. Epstein connected Alan Dershowitz wants to pitch in and get a pardon for this woman.

This reminds me of the NXVM fiasco. The MLM cult that was branding and enslaving women.

You got to wonder how many more are out there. Are these the ones that just got caught?

DayleD Apr 1, 2026 +72
Lots of overlap between MLMs and cults, but very little overlap between cults and sex. Sex cults get attention but they're not very stable. It's usually polygamy over polyamory, and that leaves a lot of alienated gents asking why everyone is reserved for leadership.

polopolo05 Apr 1, 2026 +16
this why we need a gay sex cult. everyone gets love.
16
DayleD Apr 1, 2026 +12
Hare Krishna's founder tried to make his cult one, IIRC. Didn't work out so well. Realistically, these cults treat their lower ranking numbers like property. They do *not* want social bonds forming that could supersede loyalty to leadership. So they tend to set up very conditional bonds, where you're only valued if you don't ask questions. Free love is a type of free agency, and they can't abide that.

I didn’t know that. Or did you mean Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho)?

No, that guy was heterosexual and didn't monopolize people's sex lives, just their money.
2
polopolo05 Apr 1, 2026 +5
exactlly the closest thing to a a gay sex cult is the gay club

I guess it’s all how you define a sex cult but it is very common for cult leaders to prey on their members right?

The Richard Schiff statement is interesting to me. His wife is the founder of an exercise format based on exotic dance and e***** movement. I took a trial class and we were encouraged to make orgasmic sounds and to spank ourselves and stroke our bodies throughout parts of the workout. I noped out after the trial class, so it’s been several years but I’m wondering if OneTaste inspired that or was some sort of evolution for the exercise stuff.

tdasnowman Apr 1, 2026 +36
There's been a component of sexuality to classes aimed at women since the 80's. Old at home workout tapes depending on who the lead was could get a bit out there. I remember taking a class at 24hour fitness as a teen there was no spanking but there were sounds. I ended leaving cause well my mom was the one that decided we should take a class together as our weekly mother son time thing. No one wants to see their mother be encouraged to "thrust like that, open those hips, you'll be ready when you've made them earn it." we went back to weekly movies after that.
36
JealousAstronomer342 Apr 1, 2026 +17
I took classes in e***** dancing and burlesque that were less sexual than what you’re describing, that’s insane.
17
DayleD Apr 1, 2026 +64
Wow, that 'class' sounds creepy as hell. Sex positivity doesn't require instructions to stroke yourself and fake enjoying it. Seems like they're looking for people who can be peer pressured into exploitation.

Hasn’t Van Jones flip flopped every time there’s a new president and has crocodile tears everytime some one new gets elected, or am I thinking of someone else?

nawww that’s pretty much Van Jones to a T

How could any of these people say this c***? It’s really unconscionable asking the court for leniency. Anyone that takes at risk people and abuses their trust to get them to perform at the very least questionable acts should be thrown in jail. Preying on the weak for your own benefit is disgusting.

If I had to guess, blackmail for most and love of the game for Dershowitz.

Drugba Apr 1, 2026 +1
“Epstein connected” somehow undersells exactly how terrible he is. He kept Epstein out of jail in 2008 and wrote a piece in 97 advocating for the age of consent to be 15 and softer penalties for people who violate that law. He’s an Epstein enabler and likely a client. The funny thing is even if he had no connection to Epstein he’s still defended enough scumbags to make him an absolutely terrible person (OJ Simpson, Trump, Weinstein).

"They said Daedone, 57, of New York, and Cherwitz, 44, of California, used economic, sexual and psychological abuse, intimidation and indoctrination to force OneTaste members into sexual acts they found uncomfortable or repulsive, such as having sex with prospective investors or clients." Yeah, that reads more like sex trafficking.
394
Nicholas-Steel Apr 1, 2026 +89
And specifically targeted victims of sex abuse for their victims.
89
ArcticRiot Apr 1, 2026 +86
this reads a lot like sex trafficking, but maybe I don't understand that legal definition well enough to say so.
86
AdmirableParfait3960 Apr 1, 2026 +41
I mean they just straight up pimped their members to their investors. I think pimping is sex trafficking? Either way, hella illegal lol.
41
Osiris32 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Sex trafficking is about transportation across borders without affirmative consent. Either state or international boundaries.
4
censuur12 Apr 1, 2026 +11
Contrary to what the literal terminology implies, no actual "traffic" is required and no movement or transport of any kind either. All that is required is coercing others into having sexual intercourse. Simply recruiting someone for a brothel, doing nothing else whatsoever, still falls under sex trafficking. You seem to be confusing it with smuggling, which involves moving people across borders, but that has little to do with trafficking.
11
sump_daddy Apr 1, 2026 +1
It's like 'drug trafficking' where people think only about how drugs get into a country that ostensibly doesn't make them (like cocaine into the USA) and anyone doing so is a 'trafficker' because they are moving them in. Trafficking is any transaction (buying, selling, OR moving to a different market) including quid pro quo (i.e. coercing sex acts in return for favorable treatment of some kind)

The cult was seriously awful and messed up. Sinisterhood did a good [podcast](https://open.spotify.com/episode/0MfPEpCiM3FyJs0RPOXMDy?si=01-9WOjwQaahVpQSY2SNIw) about them earlier this year.

Unironically, I have tried orgasmic meditation before and I do think there is value to the more basic parts of the practice in terms of sexual and relationship health. For example, taking time specifically to explore your body with a partner was quite nice and I think would be helpful to a lot of people. However, none of it requires spending money or following a leader. The beneficial aspects are all things you can do for free.

I have no idea why these people think they have the background or intelligence to aid with this type of 'therapy' or whatever but we need better laws and vetting around self help groups and the like. Where I live government programs for drug abuse basically prepare you for acceptance and use of AA/NA type programs. I do not think those programs are inherently bad and seem to be well maintained but when we let these groups be the immediate outsourced solution for social problems it opens the door for these types of self help groups particularly when people are at a low in their life. >Daedone co-founded OneTaste in San Francisco in 2004 as a sort of self-help commune that viewed female orgasms as key to sexual and psychological wellness and interpersonal connection. >A centerpiece was “orgasmic meditation,” or “OM,” which was carried out by men manually stimulating women in a group setting. >The company enjoyed glowing media coverage in the 2010s as a cutting-edge enterprise that prioritized women’s sexual pleasure, and quickly opened outposts from Los Angeles to London.

I love that photo because it makes me laugh thinking about its PR setup. Okay, as you approach the courthouse there will be cameras. Spread out slightly, keep your chins up, stand tall, and look determined, Nicole, you’ll be front and center, others are her wings. Look straight ahead or over cameras. On a related note, iirc, their pr team made some inquiry’s or approached one or more of the witnesses. Judge was not happy and for that reason remanded defendants directly to jail before sentencing. Biggest pr backfire ever.
