the company was still profitable and they're blaming AI.. Bolloré didn't buy these outlets to run journalism, he bought them to run them into the ground

Not sure about Europe, but I haven’t seen anybody reading print media for awhile in the US. The occasional book sure, but super rare to see someone reading a newspaper or magazine.

Do you think digital media is better for the environment? Common belief, but very wrong. So it's just bad, I guess. Not to mention even on top of that, the loss of semi-competant popular journalism has beem devestating for efforts to even slow climate change.
