Article says she was also abusing her 3 eldest daughters. If she does not like kids, why does she keep popping them out?

abuse of humans does a lot damage to humans, including becoming pregnant without consent, including exposing inability to cope the abuse, often violent (not always with force) cycles hurt the innocent first, including being ignored by society for toxic behavior patterns. Thats no surprise, escalation is the norm when long term abuse is not detected and society fails to step in. And there is a likelihood of severe psychosis - rare to develop, but happens, can even be triggered by pregnancy.

People aren't always in full control of their own situation, and don't always act rationally.

The replies are all bullshit. The reason why is money. Either child support or welfare. Having kids is extremely profitable IF you abuse it. Obviously for people actually RAISING their kids it's extremely expensive and difficult, but you absolutely do have welfare queens who are just using their kids to scam benefits.

Why is there no mention of the male partner(s) in this article? There is at least one more adult that should be mentioned in this situation.
Edit: A quick search showed me several incidents of babies in freezers…and partners who somehow did not know they were pregnant, and those were not even the ones in the article above. That is enough internet for me today.

The partner would have to be just as insane as a mother who does that kind of thing.
I had a friend who was pretty well off and not bad looking, he has an engineering degree from Princeton, but he's really weird. When he was in his 20s he hooked up with a really ugly disheveled woman 25 years older than him who had 5 young kids. He moved in with her and a few months later told me they were living in absolute squalor. Rats, mice, bug infestation. He told me he thought that wasn't an issue but that CPS took the kids. He was totally clueless about why that wasn't an acceptable environment for people to live in.
I'm like dude what the hell are you doing?!

Why does there need to be another adult mentioned? You just need a partner to get pregnant, not for the rest.

In the meantime in Canada: 'A Yarmouth mother was sentenced to six years in prison today after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of her 17-month-old son.
Isaiha Surette died on Dec. 20, 2020. The Nova Scotia medical examiner determined his death was caused by blunt head trauma. His mother, April Wendy Marie Surette, 32, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in December 2025.
A joint statement of facts said Isaiha was inconsolable, Surette was feeling overwhelmed and in a moment of frustration while changing his diaper, she intentionally threw him from the bed onto the hardwood floor.'

Not a defense, but is that post partum depression? And also, some people should not reproduce.
Sorry, it should have read “Not a defense” instead of “It a”.

Because no one has answered you, yes, you can have a post partum mental illness like depression even 17 months after the birth. Not saying that is the case here, but there isn't enough awareness and there is still a huge stigma around mothers getting help if they aren't well/a fear they could be targeted for cps involvement.

You mean murderer. They jailed a murderer not a mother.

25 years? Should be the remaining natural life of each baby’s life she took! She should NEVER see daylight again. What the F***. So when she is released for good behavior in 12 years she can round up some more babies? It is time to upgrade punishment

She’s 44. When she gets out she certainly won’t be having more babies and there is no suggestion she would go and kill other people’s babies. She’s fucked up in the head around having babies herself.

And then she did it again.
