Proof again that we need immigrants to do the necessary tasks the locals can't be bothered with anymore

I was talking to someone about how terrorism can spread all over the world, not just think it will only happen in the US during this Iran invasion. They think if they go to a country like let's say Germany or Mexico and there's something American-related (Hilton hotel, american bank, US corporation, McDonalds, Starbucks etc), they'll be Totally fine and safe but it's not how terrorist think. They'll suicide bomb their own people. The first thing they're going to do is attack US consulates and then all the US banks/businesses, etc because at the end of the day, the invasions is purely about oil and money so instead of the regular religious war stuff they do, it comes down to things that more objective and disruptive in terms of the financial instead of always religious. A really good documentary about Osama bin ladin, and why he was able to do what he did. Basically explains that it's never a poor person that can do the serious damage but the rich terrorist.

Both are better banks than BoFA, which is quite the low bar.

Remember when [Wells Fargo ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wells_Fargo_cross-selling_scandal)made fake accounts under your name. Imagine not trusting your bank that literally has all your money.

It's one of the largest banks in the world, and it makes it easier for people in different countries to do business?

Ok, I have now to look for wth "thwart" means, other than something from a Warcraft's orc

It means to prevent something from happening.

No yeah, I looked for it, but sometimes english feels like a language assembled with duct tape, between being 80% poorly pronounced french, a bit of german and straught up latin for scientific terms. Now I have to study this word's etymology because it bugs my brain lol being it this weird it's probably anglic in origins

Once you discover the meaning of thwart, you should look up “athwart” to discover it has nothing to do with “thwart”.

'Athwart' is literally the word 'thwart' with the prefix 'a' (toward); 'thwart' means to (successfully) oppose, 'athwart' means 'to the opposite side'.

Ok it comes from Old Norse, with the classic doubts about where from in specific. Cool, but still, english feels like a collage from a neolatin language speaker lol

You can't be serious.

Ok tell me its ethimology without looking for it, if you find this term this common. I know you probably think the world started around USA, but not everyone comes from a germanic language

If its not your first language, not shocked you dont know what it means but it is a very common word in English.
