Looks like French diplomacy is working. In a surprising move France along with Russia and China vetoed a UN resolution authorising use of military to forcefully open the strait of hormuz .

It’s not the Panama Canal. There’s nothing physically blocking the strait. There’s no gates or anything. It’s only narrow if you consider 40km narrow at one point. There’s a risk of missiles and mines but that’s it. I say any ship that wants to get through just goes full throttle.
