The action scenes are top notch too. This season is definitely Starks though and I’m all for it.

cathbadh Mar 28, 2026 +1
Grandma? That's another strike. I warn you against getting a third!

Triskan Mar 28, 2026 +1
Yeah, what's the old hag gonna do then? ... I'm sorry I'm sorry Frieren-sama, please don't cry, that was just a poor joke. I promise I'll never do it again!

Seriously it’s just makes me feel content when I watch it. I’m usually just into Shonen type anime but it’s become my fall asleep show.

K1NGEDDY423 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Same here i love falling asleep to it haha

AsleepYesterday05 Mar 27, 2026 +43
it is a year and a half technically so it is not too bad. I wonder how many episodes this one will be though

ali94127 Mar 27, 2026 +17
[probable season length]>!should be 12. 13 if they want to squeeze in 2 episodic adventures, but I find this less likely.!<

oniskieth Mar 27, 2026 -25
It would take 3 years if it was a Netflix original
-25
ScipioAfricanvs Mar 27, 2026 +15
One Piece S2 just came out - 2.5 years.
15
purpleblossom Mar 28, 2026 +1
And they're already filming S3
1
Kurotan Mar 28, 2026 -2
Well, they are never going to catch up at that rate. 1155 episodes of one piece. 8 per Netflix season. That would be 192.5 Netflix seasons. 2 already exist. It will take Netflix 476.24 years to catch up.
-2
kinokomushroom Mar 28, 2026 +5
>8 per Netflix season You might wanna redo your maths again. The two seasons of Netflix One Piece covered 91 anime episodes out of 1155 and 154 manga chapters out of 1174.
5
DarthWeezy Mar 28, 2026 +1
Do you really expect them to cover even a big chunk of it? They’re not gonna do more than 5 or 6 seasons.

What a weird comment to make

At least there’s a release date. I’m still waiting on SOMETHING about Delicious in Dungeon S2.

Thankfully the Witch Hat Atelier anime is coming out on April 6th

Gotta hope that the production schedule will be better than that of Zom 100

Hopefully sometime this year!

trivialelement Mar 27, 2026 +5
I feel like I have a monthly routine to search for any news about DiD. S2 will happen ‘someday’
5
YoyoDevo Mar 27, 2026 +1
I'm still waiting for episode 2 of Steel Ball Run to come out 😭
1
purpleblossom Mar 28, 2026 +1
They announced S2 is in production in January of this year, and if they are covering ng the rest of the manga in the same amount of episodes, it likely will come out early to mid next year.

cathbadh Mar 28, 2026 +1
Same, and Apothecary Diaries s3 as well

WardenoftheWeed Mar 27, 2026 +18
Give them all the time in the world to make the Golden Land arc incredible. Fight choreography this season was stellar and the next arc is a lot of combat.
18
AK4Real Mar 27, 2026 +8
I agree but with the quality they put out, I wouldn't want them rushing it.

The studio is already booked. Many anime studios are booked beyond 2030 at this point, so no reason to expect a fast turnaround.

Turbulent-Let-1180 Mar 27, 2026 +2
It'll be here before you know it, shit moves at lightspeed these days
2
bravetailor Mar 28, 2026 +1
This series is being animated faster than a lot of shows are. Bocchi season 1 came out before Frieren, became a runaway sleeper hit, and still no season 2 on the horizon yet.

cozmckitty Mar 27, 2026 +57
I’m glad they’re doing this bc it will give the manga author and illustrator more time to write the material. They’ve both had issues with being overworked and had to take extended hiatuses because of it, and there really isn’t enough manga out for a two cour third season. This also gives the anime staff more time to cook and I’m all for it since the show is animated so beautifully.

Coolman_Rosso Mar 27, 2026 +31
Generally speaking, anime filler arcs are a thing of the past now that there's so many projects that studios don't have to stick to continuous production for a given show. So there's more time for both authors and animators

HellsNels Mar 27, 2026 +12
There is enough for a 2-cour. But then they’d be at the doorstep of the current arc, so that’s most likely not happening. My prediction: * What’s been announced: 12 episodes (Golden Land) * What could be cour 2 of a season 3, or serve as a season 4: 10 episodes. (Goddess Monument and random traveling) * Season 4 or 5: Foundation Festival 12+

I was excited and then realized it said 2027 and not 2026.

Wtf season 2 just started. Its over?
9
Saphyrz Mar 27, 2026 +21
Episode 10 aired today, it was only set for 10 before the next big arc.
21
baggedBoneParcel Mar 27, 2026 -23
That was the last episode??? That's lame as hell. Season 2 sucked in that case, it was literally just getting started. The first one had 28 episodes. Now the next season wont come out for another 2 years basically?
-23
SweetNeo85 Mar 27, 2026 +9
lol entitled much? There's plenty of great stuff to watch.
9
baggedBoneParcel Mar 27, 2026 -11
Entitled nothing, I'm expressing displeasure. Season 2 sucked in comparison to season 1. Why did they even bother with such an inconsequential and brief season 2 if they were gonna have a 2 year delay? Should have just waited longer and put out something of a comparable length.
-11
KTR1988 Mar 28, 2026 +4
Madhouse is a very busy and in-demand studio who pretty much never do long running series. It's actually impressive that the production committee has managed to keep them on board. If you want a two cour Season 2 or quicker seasons that means handing off the series to another studio.
4
cathbadh Mar 28, 2026 +1
>Season 2 sucked in that case I'm disappointed I didn't get more too, but come on, in no world does the Hero of the South suck.

NFL_MVP_Kevin_White Mar 27, 2026 +6
I picked this show up at random and really enjoyed it.
6
ThatGuyFromTheM0vie Mar 27, 2026 +5
But how many episodes? That’s the question lol.
5
Regula96 Mar 27, 2026 +9
Depends on the length of the next arc. But going by October next year it's definitely not two cours this time either.
9
Nanocaptain Mar 27, 2026 +3
The next Arc by itself is nearly double the length of the two smaller arcs that made up season 2 chapters wise (though 4 of them were the last 3 episodes of season 2). Combined with the two arcs after that it could be just a bit shorter than season 1 which spanned 60 chapters. And there's another 22 episode arc after those but If I remember correctly that's not complete so I doubt it would make it into season 3.

This entire franchise is soo gentle and comfortable to the senses. It's an absolute treat for the ears no matter the language. Everything is amazing.

TheWholeOfTheAss Mar 27, 2026 +6
When I first saw this headline, I thought they meant October *this year.* 2027!? Gosh damn! We’re all gonna have to become elves if we wanna see the end of the manga and anime!

Wide-Deal-8971 Mar 27, 2026 +3
I would also like to announce that my crunchyroll subscription is hereby on hiatus until October 2027.

Nero_Ocean Mar 27, 2026 +2
Wait I thought it was in its third season now?

Season 2 final episode aired today

This can’t happen fast enough.

ChrisEvansFan Mar 28, 2026 +1
Cant wait for the Denken arc! What a tease! The music during that part was amazing (but so is everything in this show. I absolutely love the soundtrack).
1
purpleblossom Mar 28, 2026 +1
I think this makes sense, given other productions at Madhouse, but also a means to hopefully let the mangaka recover so the manga hiatus can end.

RecommendsMalazan Mar 27, 2026 -7
Not great, but honestly I was expecting longer, so I'm fine with it.

TURBINEFABRIK74 Mar 27, 2026 -3
Please do a good 3rd season.. don’t just milk a franchise

Kill_stuffz Mar 27, 2026
Literally one of my favorites these days

sinb_is_not_jessica Mar 27, 2026 -4
They really want to kill off Fern and Stark lol
-4
Gabochuky Mar 27, 2026 -13
I don't care if I get downvoted into oblivion but season 2 was not good. I get it, people like chill anime, but this was just way to chill. Literaly nothing happpened for multiple episodes, by episode 7 I checked out.
-13
HFwhy Mar 27, 2026 +5
Yea we get it not enough flash and conflict, just stick to jjk bro.
5
Gabochuky Mar 27, 2026 -3
What does JJK have to do with this? I also don't like jjk too much, but for completely different reasons. My take was that Frieren goes way too extreme on the chill aspect. It needs more balance. And I'm not even talking about action scenes, the story is going nowhere.
-3
Podo13 Mar 27, 2026 +1
There's a bunch of gatekeeping in anime fandom. To some people, if you enjoy Solo Leveling or JJK or the like, you might as well call yourself an uncultured Neanderthal.
1
baggedBoneParcel Mar 27, 2026
100% agreed. 28 episodes in season 1. 10 in season 2. literally nothing happened. I'm shocked it's over.
