Space is extremely dangerous, but people can still do more than robotic explorers can – in terms of technical achievements and inspiring public interest.

So kind of NASA to delay Artemis 2 so that it could line up with a synergistic movie release!

Rumor has it that WWIII is being delayed to coincide with the release of “Oppenheimer 2: Atomic Boogaloo”.

NASA got funding in the 1960’s by involving people since nobody cared about dogs and chimps in space.

[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict\_(narrative)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_(narrative)) It's a classic narrative thing that lets you hit all the various beats of conflict. Man versus nature (space), man versus man (stuck together on a ship or space station with possibly hostile companions), even man versus self if it's a more solitary story. Not too different from stories about sailors and other seamen.
