We’re wondering if there’s some subtle stuff happening behind the scenes in Alabama. My partner and I - we’re gay and on a lot of papers together.
We both, the past couple of weeks, have gotten letters regarding our drivers licenses expiring or that they wouldn’t be valid for flying unless we renew in person.
The thing is though that both of our drivers licenses are good almost through next year AND they’re both Star ID’s (the ID designed to get through airport security).

I wouldn't worry about that if I were you. That's standard procedure in Alabama; they just have to make sure they got right in the system that you're a homosexual and not an own-home sexual since the latter is the more common one, and only 15% of adults there are literate. They make too many mistakes when filing the paperwork so they just need to double check.
It's also why people there are violently homophobic. They think it means incest. They have no idea it just means gay.
(/j jfc stay safe, that's terrifying. Sorry for the low hanging fruit Alabama joke 💀 as a queer also from a red state, in all seriousness I am with you in the worries about what we don't know, given what we do. It's scary.)

Now, now, what on earth are you talking about? Trans people only came into existence very, very suddenly within the last couple decades. At least as long as Christianity has? That can't be right!!

Suppose for a moment you believe that being trans is some kind of sin. I don't, I'm trans, but suppose.
Suicide is also a sin. One of the big ones.
> If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Jesus says you should get gender affirming care to prevent suicide.

Fun fact that was actually a retelling of an even older (I think it was Sumerian) flood myth where the gods decided humans sucked and flooded the earth, but one god (Ea or Enki depending) went to his favorite dude (uta-napishti) and told him to build a huge boat with his family and craftsmen and some animals on it but no material wealth to prove humans are worth something. Uta-Napishti does what he's told, but also takes jewelry and stuff despite being told not to. Flood ends, the gods go "oh shit wait that was really stupid of us now there's nobody left." Then ol' Uta-Napishti and his wife are like "sup" and the big head god Anu (partially a precursor to God) is all "wtf is this shit?"
Ea says "ha ha wow look how cool that dude is he survived", Anu says "bro come on you weren't supposed to tell people" but Anu decides it was funny enough that it happened that he lets Uta-Napishti live and grants him and his wife eternal life.
Uta-Napishti later makes a cameo in the Epic of Gilgamesh because even the cinematic universe was created by the Epic of Gilgamesh first!

The whole "God knows everything that's going to happen and is infallible" shit is so tired. Why did God make sinners if he knows they're going to sin? If God knows everything that's going to happen then there is no free will as he already knows when people will "betray" his rules. Jesus knew when he would be betrayed- why did God put someone on the planet that would betray him? Why put so many mistakes on the planet to flood it if you knew it was going to happen? Why test anyone at all with this life if God already knows who he made that's going to fail his "test"?
It's impossible to reason with people that have a core tenant of not reasoning about their beliefs and trusting in the outcome. All you can do is outnumber them and put tribal pressures on them that their behavior isn't acceptable. And even then they'll revert to their old ways when they're not surrounded by people that disagree with them. Blind belief without reasoning is so dangerous in any form.

I think people forget that God gave humans free will, so we have the choice to take care of each other. If you do not hold doors for people, or stop to help someone with a flat, or feed someone else who needs help, that is not God’s fault… because he gave you the amazing power of life! If you choose not to help people, how is that on God?

I think their opinion goes Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, where'd the sperm/Y chromosome come from if not from herself?
Otherwise, if no sperm or Y chromosome from her non-existent male partner then that would make Jesus XX chromosomally, which the undereducated would equate to being a woman... or make him transgender.
But sex and gender is WAY more complicated and weird than simple chromosomes.
