Does anyone else go through phases where they’re super motivated (working out, reading, improving life) and then randomly lose it? How do you stay consistent?
Yeah I do. I can go along with really well with things then it all just disappears.
I can’t rely on habit so I rely on choices. I’ve also stopped beating myself up if I miss one workout or mess up one meal. Every choice is a new start and it’s always flexible - if I’m too tired or sore for weights, I walk instead. As long as I’m moving it’s still a win

Yes. I go through phases of hyperfocus on something and during that phase I am super motivated and active. Then just as quickly as the hyperfocus appeared, it will disappear.
This is a part of my ADHD, which I have a pretty severe case of.
I haven't really found the secret ingredient or the key to consistency when the hyperfocus phase is gone. It is usually replaced with a phase of hyperfocus on something else in stead. So I try to just enjoy the ride/phase as long as it lasts.
