Goliath on Prime!

I just finished season 1 and there’s nowhere to discuss it. The ending was maddening. I knew Billy would win and I expected the case to turn in his favor at some point but it never did. He never had a convincing case. Callie Senate never screwed up. Even if the jury just liked him better than her that doesn’t justify the verdict they gave. It was insane. I expected to see him actually do something to deserve to win. jeesh Billy was okay but I hated the way he treated Brittany at the end and Marva all the way through. He just destroyed Brittany and she didn’t deserve it. He insisted she work with him and she really tried. Then he just drops her when he got her into the mess. It was cold. And was I supposed to hate Callie and be happy she was fired? Because I didn’t. She spent most of her time fighting her own people’s bullshit. All the nasty cracks about her age and the whole sequence of Donald telling her he was entitled to sex with her then punishing her and degrading her after she said no were awful. She may have been abrasive but she was good at her job and her work environment was plenty hostile too. I expected so much more from a third billed Maria Bello. All Michelle did was react to everyone else. She barely had a personality beyond support person. The only thing she had was her relationship with Callie and that was one sided. Callie was really into her to the end while Michelle seemed to tolerate her. But no games, sure. Callie shouldn’t have called her daughter but I don’t blame her for trying to get something back from the woman who said she loved her but ran cold. Plus no one was traumatized by Denise walking in. She and Billy failed their daughter, not Callie. And boy did they fail her. Donald was the worst. There was nothing redeemable about him. It was almost weird how unsympathetic he was. Lucy wasn’t sympathetic either. She was just pitiful and annoying. I just shook my head when she climbed in the bed with him like she honestly believed her gave a damn about her. I liked Leonard okay but he was ineffectual.
