Grease was so confusing 😕

Posted by hitbyafridge

Edit - re-wrote the entire post to make my thoughts more coherent Grease is such a weird movie because I couldn't tell where it's started and were it ended. things just didn't make sense eg Betty and Sandy got into an argument in a second and they apparently stop talking to each other even though Sandy is still talking to the main pink group and then for them to just resolve it also a second towards the end. Also Sandy's glow up felt weird and forced. She fell for a guy 3 tumes who didnt respect her as much as she did him (evident in the first song) and ig go be delulu girl. Youd think after the movie thing shed have changed but no, she changes her entire aesthetic just for the boy and ONLY THEN does he actually meet her in the middle like girl get up. The weird cuts and time skips had me suspending my disbelief more than a typical fictional movie would've because i just couldnt make sense of it. They picked up plot lines then dropped them in the next 10 minutes without actually resolving them(Rizzo's pregnancy scare and Danny's dance woth the other girl)The only saving grace was the music and the crumbs of kinicke x danny But idk maybe that's how stories were told back then cause my mom really enjoyed re-watching it and she sang along to some of the songs. Anyway, #kenickexdanny truther

More or less confusing than reading a 163 long sentence without a single punctuation mark?

Give them a break, they were hit by a fridge.

Honestly after reading that review, I believe the fridge story. It tracks. #

Yall punctuation is over-rated : <

Yeah, the fridge lore is starting to feel more believable than the review itself.

Yeah, OPs movie review is equally confusing. What is it with this generation and not using punctuation? 😂

Yeah, reading that felt like the script got stuck in fast‑forward. Google Voice really went method‑acting on the chaos. #

And decided not to do any editing afterward? Lol

To be fair, editing that wall of text would’ve been a whole second movie

Google Voice typing really said “no punctuation, only vibes.” Happens to the best of us. #

I don't like your kind.

Guy I worked with would text like this. Every text was a paragraph with zero punctuation. I just started ignoring him until he called.

Probably saved you a from a couple headaches

Jesus...use some punctuation and articulate your thoughts a little more clearly.

Well, this is what happens when you only watch TikToks and YouTube shorts all day. Your brain and attention span turn to mush

Media literacy is a relic of the past

AdditionalAddress525 Mar 31, 2026 +7
If media literacy is gone, punctuation is already buried six feet under.

my head hurts after trying to read this.

I guess if English isn't your first language then it would be petty confusing.

Honestly the movie makes more sense than that paragraph did. I had to take a deep breath halfway through like it was a marathon.

The whole movie is in Sandy's head as she dies from drowning.

rizzo and sandy had like zero chemistry as friends and the whole pink ladies dynamic felt so forced. the movie jumps around so much it's hard to follow who's supposed to be close with who and why sandy keeps going back to danny after he's a complete ass to her multiple times is beyond me. that ending where she completely changes herself for a guy who treated her like garbage is not the vibe.

Mundane-Dare-2980 Mar 31, 2026 +2
To be fair, he tried to change himself first. Not that Danny wasn't an ass, but the story acknowledges that. And he doesn't ask her to change. she decides she wants to and consults with Frenchy, not Danny, about how to do it. The movie is a nostalgic (and silly) celebration of 50s Greaser culture. She didn't change just for the guy.

All the friendships felt forced and weird. Danny fr blew up at his friends in one scene and then goes to hanging out with them again? Like be more serious bro. I should've been in the Writer's room

That movie actually made me angry when I watched it from beginning to end!

Nowhere near as confusing as this post.

"maybe that's how stories were told back then" It's Romeo and Juliet. Just like West Side Story is Romeo and Juliet.

The music was the only saving grace

>and ONLY THEN does he actually meet her in the middle like girl get up. The entire middle of the movie is him trying to change for her, (e.g. he takes track and field) in the end sandy doesn't change FOR Danny, she changes to throw off teh shackles of 1950s conformity and forced feminine demurity. She stops being Sandra Dee not for Danny, but for her own liberation.

I think the character beats work for the kind of heightened reality it's in.

People just giving OP shit for expressing his opinion lol. People can't think of any constructive conversation so lets just insult his imperfect writing and say his brain must have be rotted. This is listnook not a writers guild. I don't like this movie either to be honest I just find it weird and annoying. The "tell me more" song is fun though and I like John Travolta. The car flying off at the end is pretty funny I appreciate when some movies just throw some random crazy shit in and don't elaborate. It keeps you guessing.

I suggest you NEVER watch Grease 2, I regretted it within 30 seconds!!
-1
Alchemix-16 Mar 31, 2026 +2
So you missed the best musical number at the end . Regret might still be happening. Also both movies have a very shady relationship with consent.
2
resilientasf23 Mar 31, 2026
Are you saying I should fast forward to the end and watch??

You've got to be a cool rider to enjoy that one.... Or a girl for all seasons!
