A container ship was fired upon without warning by a gunboat of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), causing significant damage to the vessel’s bridge, maritime authorities said. The vessel has been identified as the Liberia-flagged Epaminondas, owned by Greece’s Technomar Shipping and operated by MSC.

This isn't exactly a good thing; it feels like the chaos is starting all over again.

Yes it is starting all over again it seems. In the last 4-5 hours there has been reports of attacks on 3 ships

The vessel said they had permission and was fired on by a gunboat. They are investigating everything including if the permission granted was authentic. Imagine the international incidents you could cause by sending out fake permissions

Apparently some group has been doing that and stealing money and giving ships fake codes and they get attacked lol

Who could've predicted that starting a conflict with a regime that's funding and housing countless terrorist cells could ever lead to this...

All the experts that got fired for saying as much lol

See? So no experts were saying so anymore, only the losers that got fired anyway, so there was no risk anymore, isn't that right? Isn't that how it works? Fire the ravens and doomsayers, to nothing can happen?

Can they finally end this shit? Send the boots on the ground or make a deal. Now it is some kind of prolonged masturbation. We just want to have proper economy and trade.

Why do that when you make a quick million bucks (or more) week in week out because the market is directly linked to Truth Social instead of reality.

I don’t think they are actually capable to bring about a swift end. Trump would consider either a huge W. However boots on the ground simply is not a quick option and making a deal only works if both parties are actually willing/able to follow through and neither of these are trustworthy parties. And with how much the US managed to erode the international rule of law a supranational organ as arbitrator isn’t really an option anymore.

And now you are close to understanding more than what Orange man still doesn’t. Iran won’t negotiate because they can easily cause chaos with little effort in the strait of Hormuz. And there is a reason republicans have started more than a few 10+ year wars in the Middle East but never attacked Iran - Iran is naturally protected by their geography - mountains, sea, and large land mass.

No, they need the conflict for their market manipulation scheme. (Although, maybe now Iran is impacting the market out of schedule, maybe the Trump administration might actually try to end it and find a different playground...)
