Not really the same IMO. 9/11 was genuinely terrifying for Americans and people were rightfully scared of what else al Qaeda could do. It was and still is the most sophisticated, most destructive and deadliest attack by a terror group in world history and will likely remain that way. This time everyone knows that we fucked up and created this mess. And we also know that Iran doesn't have some kind of secret 9/11 card up their sleeve. They probably have small sleeper cells scattered around the US and Europe that could pull off low-level assassinations or maybe do something like shoot up a shopping mall, but none of that is especially novel in this day and age and Americans would likely forget about it after a few days.

I'm a railroader in one of the largest hubs in the USA.. definitely getting twitchy. They've already sent us a threat warning announcement. The gist of it was, "We're dumping money into keeping an eye out for iranian drones around railways, but dont worry about iranian drones because there are none!"

Trump fucked up so bad, we’re guaranteed an attack on American soil. And trumps a second away from purposely letting it happen, if he even was capable of stopping it, just to try to raise his approval level like a dead cat bounce. Are we great again yet

While true, pilots seem to LOVE blaming anything and everything on ATC haha. Poor ATC. Insanely stressful and high-scrutiny job, many with 6-day work weeks, high burnout rates, and no flight benefits!  Have some patience and gratitude for ATC, folks.
