This was actually in advance development before Baby Reindeer was released. HBO joined an existing BBC development. This being written and produced so close to BR would otherwise be really fast. These things take so long normally.

How Richard Gadd is getting away with all of this is insane. Baby Reindeer is still meant to go to court and being slowed down by everything Netflix has in the tank. Anyone who knows Richard knows that he lied about what happened in that show (not the r***) but the stalking of any kind. This is not new information. Disgusted to see this.
