Hamas is preventing Gazan contractors from rebuilding Rafah | The Jerusalem Post
The contractors were threatened at gunpoint by Hamas militants, who refused to permit them passage to the site. The contractors, who came from various parts of the Strip, were forcibly turned away.

For Hamas, Gaza is worth far more in ruins than as a modern, developed city.

Yup — from both a monetary and a PR standpoint.

Hamas, not actually caring about the Palestinians at all beyond how the deaths of innocents can serve them? Color me shocked. No one could have seen that coming.

They must not possess certain skills needed to build tunnels.

ShadeSilver90 5 hr ago +17
yes they dont have kids hands...since kids were used to dig the tunnels of Gaza

That doesn't sound like the hamas protesters at ivy league universities have been defending for the last 2 years....

It's almost like hamas is an occuping iranian forces using gazan civilians as human shields

Strictly speaking Hamas is an mostly Palestinian insurgency; Hezbollah on the other hand is practically an Iranian puppet in every way.

Both Hamas’s and Hezbollah’s rank-and-file are composed of locals. Both are funded, organized, directed, trained, instigated, and supplied by outside regimes; the Iranian regime played a huge role in prompting/encouraging Oct. 7th to sow regional discord and attempt to drive a wedge between the Gulf States and the West/Israel, and Hamas leadership has literally based their offices in Qatar for years (and some allegedly in Turkey, also). It’s just that Hezbollah is much more traceable to the IRGC, specifically. Hamas is a mixed bag of funding/influence/material support/political support from Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and a slew of other sketchy sources that have more widely distributed (but still non-local) origins (e.g. wealthy foreign ideologue financiers, sham charities, investment portfolios of international companies), with particular patterns of connections to Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and Sudan (either the states, organizations/individuals therein, or both).

Breaking news: Terrorists love living in shit-holes. More at 11..

snil4 3 hr ago +1
Terrorists don't live in the shit-holes, but they have to keep the average person's life as horrible as possible so more people turn to terrorism because it's the only option left. Most terrorists live better than the people on the streets but most of them will die before their life gets better, it's all by design.

A Jerusalem post article? No actual evidence provided. No photos, videos or verification from independent journalists from outside Israel and Palestine? I would be very skeptical of this source.

Jpost is so old it used to be called the Palestine Post. Their editorials are usually on the Israeli right but I havent heard any actual allegations about the veracity of their reporting. And most of the things they report make it into ynet or times of Israel anyways.

Meh both run propaganda for their respective agendas let’s be real. Just a quick look at how the Jerusalem post addresses settler violence and it becomes very clear. They basically refuse to acknowledge that the IDF is basically standing by and allowing this terrorism to occur because to arrest the perpetrators, who in this case are Jewish religious extremists, would cause a massive backlash among the far right factions of the current government and in general Israeli society as the image of a Jewish army shooting at Jewish extremists would be too much for Israelis to handle.

They report about West Bank violence (including incidents with Jewish suspects) all the time; it sounds like you just want them to spin it with a more anti-Israel narrative. Al Jazeera on the other hand… it was extremely difficult to find any mention of Oct 7 atrocities for example. Among dozens of glowing articles, I found one sentence that vaguely mentioned some “incident at a rave”

Here is an article by Al Jazeera outlining what happened. [Al Jazeera article ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2023/10/7/what-happened-in-israel-a-breakdown-of-how-the-hamas-attack-unfolded) Pretty easy to find on a simple google search.

With no mention of Hamas’ atrocities. The article makes it sound like a force on force conflict, between the IDF and Hamas. If someone just read that they’d have no idea how horrible 10/7 was. Sharing that is proof of how disgusting Al Jazeera is.

Electronic_Star_7575 7 hr ago -34
There is mention of it. It outlines how many were killed and injured at the time of reporting.

The ever transparent and non biased Al Jazeera is the example for f****** honest journalism is so funny my guy. /s

The person above said it was extremely difficult to find Al Jazeera reporting on October 7th. I provided evidence that they did so and it was very easy to find. So he was wrong. As for your comment, is there anything in the article I linked that is biased, dishonest or not transparent?

Thats fair, publications all have bias, this is why you need multiple sources.  At a minimum though the litmus test should be that the information that is presented is factual

nu1stunna 8 hr ago +47
I bet you lapped up all the Hamas-published death tolls though.
47
Electronic_Star_7575 8 hr ago -26
Nope. If only Israel would allow independent journalists into the area to investigate instead of killing them all we could get some accurate information.

nu1stunna 8 hr ago +25
Lmao what makes you think it’s Israel preventing them from going in? There’s an article right here stating that Hamas is preventing construction workers from entering. Ever stop to think that Hamas is preventing journalists too? The Islamic Republic and Hamas are peas in a pod — only vetted journalists with e****** to show them what they need them to see and talk to predetermined “witnesses”. See: Bushra Shaikh

Figure of speech. Source on Israel killing journalists here: [Israel killing journalists ](https://cpj.org/special-reports/record-129-press-members-killed-in-2025-israel-responsible-for-2-of-3-of-deaths/)

Because the JERUSALEM POST says that.

It’s a perfectly reliable mainstream newspaper. It sounds like you just don’t like the facts they’re reporting.

ImaginaryBridge 3 hr ago +1
The facepalming irony of anyone who tries to discredit the Jerusalem Post by calling out the newspaper’s name to imply an Israeli bias, when their entire opinion of the IP conflict is shaped by articles originally sourced by Haaretz, without having the slightest clue what Haaretz means in English…The tail is truly wagging the dog anytime this topic comes up.

I genuinely starting to believe Hamas somehow connected to Israel via Russia. It’s like all these guys do is to justify Israel actions.
