Hamas rejecting a disarmament plan, that's not exactly a shock, they've done this before.

>Terror group won't put down guns aimed at hostages- afraid of losing their leverage.

Sorry, Hamas. You don’t get to choose. Honestly, this is Trump’s fault. Trump told Bibi to end the war even after Hamas refused to disarm. Bibi didn’t want to, but Trump was so desperate for a win he told Bibi to stop the fighting.

As an Israeli, I think it was the right play. Hamas is stuck in a small corner and hasn't been able to cause us meaningful problems, which is much better than before, and we got the hostages back. You can't expect a perfect result with these fanatics

Hard to agree that it wasn't the right play considering the return of the hostages, I agree. It also gives Israel room to deal with Iran and Hezbollah. But it also just delays the conflict rather than ends it, I don't think anyone expected Hamas to actually disarm (and as always - as with Iran - they never accept negotiating from a perspective of weakness, they negotiate as though they are equals.

Which is why by viewing the conflict through the game theory lens, the utter destruction of a foe such as Hamas makes sense on paper. The real world cost of achieving that goal is a price few countries would dare to consider

Bibi has no interest in ending the conflict, since the possibility of re-opening hostilities gives him political and legal advantages.

Because there's no financial incentive for the state to not have to pay for war there, or also because there's no humanitarian incentive for avoiding having to send your husbands and brothers to die in war. These are two things that are important for not losing elections.

Remember when that peace deal was signed and all of the headlines were "Angry Liberals furious about President Trump's historic Israeli peace agreement"? None of this was ever going to work and it was obvious.

Did the people in Gaza not get a few months of relative quite? Some time to breath? Both sides could have used this tome to come to a better solution than 'we'll destroy all of yous'. Seems hamas didn't use this time wisely, if they still refuse to put down their guns.

Not really. You should pay more attention.

Another one of the “Peace deals” from the Pedo deal maker in chief lol

Hate to break it to you, but virtually every Muslim terrorist organization takes part in way worse pedo behavior.  Most orgs could use it as a flex, not the groups with child brides

You can either keep your weapons and die fighting or give up your weapons and die peacefully.

If Hamas laid down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel laid down its weapons, it would cease to exist.

Send James David in to sort this out, he's on a winning streak lately.

I think they should let hamas go for now. They are a shell of their former self, and IRGC can't sponsor them for a while. If they did anything again, then IDF can go after them again.

We're sick of doing this. The world is sick of us having to do it. This has to be the final battle in the long war with the IRGC and the wider Muslim world. We would rather have trade partners than enemies.

That is how I feel too, but Israel fighting Hamas, Hezbo, and IRGC doesn't seem feasible to me
