And israel wants gurantees of hamas disarmament before talks of troop withdrawal.

You forget to mention, Israel's position hasn't changed.
Hamas signed a peace treaty ... and is now ignoring their promises. That isn't just a warcrime, that is a denial of the existence of any basis for international law all together. If hamas does this, it doesn't matter what agreement you get from them, they won't follow it anyway.

Sadly it is. Obviously it's been "reduced", but not enough. They're not able to fight Israel but they're still able to execute opponents in Gaza: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/world/middleeast/hamas-crackdown-rivals-gaza.html . I guess not enough people care about that.

I don't get why you feel the need to lie about this. Yes the IDF had little care about civilian deaths, but suggesting they were aiming at civilians specifically rather than hamas is not true and I'm not sure who this lie even serves except maybe hamas themselves.

The fact you think the IDF isn’t purposefully killing civilians is where the lie starts

I'm not denying any of that, you are missing my point.
You can go see the numbers given by gaza health ministry about the death toll demographics. You'll see that men in the age to fight are overrepresented in the death toll.
This suggests that whilst israeli forces had little to no regard for civilian deaths, they were not in fact the primary targets.
But then again I know it's risky to have a nuanced take on the internet.

Hamas looking to have a guarantee to build more tunnels under schools and hospitals too?
Terrorists.
126
Primary-Debate-549Apr 2, 2026
You don't understand. It's hamas that's building those hospitals, it's them organizing the funding, the contractors, everything. Those hospitals are being built to BE weapons against Israel, not for any other purpose.
Without hamas ... you see, there's a slight issue: Arabs HATE Palestinians. There's historical reasons for that, plus Arabs hate each other. Those hospitals would never be built without hamas, because, and this is putting things mildly, Palestinians have no economy and cannot do this themselves. Either they're the channel for muslim racism ... or they're the poorest nation on earth.

Israel does the exact same thing? I'd love to see evidence of them building tunnels under schools and hospitals.
Hamas is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths. If Hamas stopped rejecting ceasefires a year earlier, and agreed to return all the hostages, 30,000 people would be alive. But Hamas chose torturing hostages over keeping Palestinians out of harms way by ending the war sooner. All those deaths are on Hamas.

I bet if they're brave enough to come back, they're going to try to argue that Israel building bomb shelters to protect civilians is the same thing as Hamas building terrorist tunnels to hide and transport weapons and troops. I'm sure that's what they meant when they said "Israel does the exact same thing."

Your article says a building is 450 meters away, not a tunnel directly under a hospital or a school. Another one is 300M away, not directly on/above as you indicated. Trying to frame it as exactly the same is simply wrong.
As for your other point, Israel allowed money to be sent to Hamas so they could fund the civilian government. Had they not allowed it you would be condemning Israel for preventing a government from functioning. While I don't think they should have allowed the money in, that is different from funding Hamas.
They didn't create Hamas either, but I didn't think that was worth addressing because there is only so much misinformation I can point out at any given time.

Do you have better sources?
Your first link is to a site that has an obvious anti-Israel bias; your second link is an Iranian domain; and your third link is from a website with 10 followers on twitter and 3 members in its sublistnook.

I agree with the first part, not the latter. Israel won't just go away as we can see from what is happening in the west bank. I wish one day we can have a sensible government in israel that can lead a path to peace by providing credible promise of sovereignty for palestine
-30
MVP_Legend_87Apr 2, 2026

Israel offered a 2SS so Palestinians could have full control Gaza/WB, and the PA turned them down. At some point we have to acknowledge the Palestinian leadership has done nothing to indicate they want a path to peace and a state for the Palestinians.
34
StupidScaredSquirrelApr 2, 2026
-9
I'm not denying that, I was just saying that asking hamas to step down so that gaza will be left alone is disingenuous. The west bank doesn't have hamas and colonies are always going deeper and deeper. If israel wants the "we'll leave you alone" argument to be believable, it needs to stop endorsing settlers in the west bank.

True but the difference is there is no one in the knesset that believes egypt and jordan are israeli land. In fact the position iirc is that jordan is the only palestinian state.

I mean, it's basically a bs diplomatic excuse to refuse disarmament, but what would such guarantees even look like?
The IDF is a large military, it borders Gaza, the width of Gaza itself is just some 6km through most of its length, the infrastructure is worse than non-existent at this point, and the Israeli public is hawkish especially in regards to it and will show virtually no domestic opposition to reinvading it for decades to come.
Say Israel agrees and fully pulls out of Gaza tommorrow - there will be very little that could be done to discourage it from re-establishing the exact same position down the line.
