A dad disappearing in a prison for nine days while his family waits by the phone. A 24 year old hanged. Depressingly many political executions at an unprecedented rate. This is what the regime "surviving the war" looks like for us Iranians. The world looked away and they got to work, and things will only get worse now that they know how easily the world looks away while they commit their atrocities.

None of the Iranian people deserve this.
The regime is either going to crumble under the weight of asymmetry, or it'll be opposed internally after too many atrocities pile up.
I can tell you this much. The world will not forget Iran for a very, very long time to come.

Thank you. This means more than you know. We have been bleeding for freedom for decades with the world barely noticing, so the fact that people outside Iran are paying attention and refuse to forget keeps hope alive. Iran will be free!

We've known many wonderful people from Iran living abroad. Hopefully a time will come when the people of Iran can live freely without internal or external aggression. Take care of yourselves and wishing you all the best. Do not give up hope.

Best of luck to you folks. A lot of us are hoping things can get better for you, despite listnook's dedication to turning everything into a Trump hatefest. The people of Iran deserve a chance.

I and my friends do not look away, but what is to be done about it? The only way to defeat this regime might just be an actual invasion by NATO and occupation for several decades while a stable democracy can be established. There is no popular support for this scenario, neither in the west nor probably in Iran where there would be a lot of death and destruction and grief and rebuilding for an entire generation. I think your best bet is that the Iranian military might one day decide to allow for a peaceful transition...

Thank you, I appreciate that you and your friends are paying attention, it genuinely matters! And you're right that a full NATO occupation isn't realistic or even desirable unfortunately. But the options aren't just "full invasion" or "do nothing". Consistent political pressure, refusing to normalize the regime diplomatically, covering Iranian deaths with the same urgency as other conflicts, and supporting the opposition, these all matter a lot. What breaks regimes is usually a combination of internal pressure and international isolation, and right now Iranians are are providing the internal pressure, but the world going quiet is what emboldens the regime to accelerate executions.
