There is no map in the article. By map, they mean a list of countries touched by the news.

It’s wild how diseases most people rarely hear about can still have such a wide global footprint awareness and prevention really matter here.

map of what, contact tracing? these are not confirmed cases "The two Singapore residents who were on board the MV Hondius are currently isolated at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) said on Thursday (May 7). Both men are well, with one experiencing a runny nose and the other asymptomatic, while they await test results." this virus can have long incubation times, but maybe at least wait till all the people are actually tested?  edit: the Singaporeans both tested negative

Because responsible reporting doesn't always pay the bills.

> Maria van Kerkhove, director of epidemic and pandemic preparedness at the WHO, noting, “This is not coronavirus. I want to be unequivocal here; this is not SARS-CoV-2 and not the start of a Covid pandemic.” Great, thank you for allaying my fears of another pandemic, by saying that we won't have a _covid_ pandemic. Yeah, obviously. Hanta would cause a Hantavirus Pandemic. That's literally the worst way to be unequivocal. Also, there's no _goddamn map_.

I created a map here after getting frustrated and not being able to find a source of truth: should be an accurate real-time reflection of current cases on a map: [https://hantavirusmap2026.com/](https://hantavirusmap2026.com/) Hope it's helpful!

this map is absolute dogshit it shows austria has a case but this is not true its just an article written in our country about the hantavirus

The algoritm should be better and is updated soon, it's very difficult to get right but it gets better every day. Priority is to get closest to truth as possible. Bear with me!

Y’all really think it’s going to be like Covid? Cause I don’t see it’s becoming that big at all.

Euphoric_Owl_6882 4 days ago +1
Its bigger, they just not letting on to cause panic
1
THEANONLIE 4 days ago +2
Why would this be true? It is no where near as transmissible.
2
vanisssha 3 days ago +2
Time to put on the tinfoil hat. Check the official data before stating this nonsense. It’s been around for long time already

Euphoric_Owl_6882 3 days ago +1
Yes but not worldwide.

You don't know anything about this virus do you?
1
Euphoric_Owl_6882 3 days ago +1
Yes, it kills people
1
LePigeon12 3 days ago +1
Anything else, actual biological facts and not something that any virus can do?

It's spreading way too slow to be relevant.
1
x_justinprime 2 days ago +1
2-8 weeks before symptoms appeared btw and 3 people already died means there must be hundreds if not thousands already infected
1
Chickenkarim2009 2 days ago +1
From what it seems like it's more of an deadly virus then one that spreads fast like corona so until now there speeds aren't comparable.

Bro, the likelyhood of human to human transmission is low, like real low. Just stop.
-4
leadzor 5 days ago -5
What happened with that Dutch flight attendant? Close proximity with an infected person for a few minutes, and now she’s in the hospital with mild symptoms and a confirmed case. Which is odd because 1. Human to human transmission is (supposedly) rare, and 2. The incubation is several weeks long.
-5
Hexenzsiin 5 days ago +8
Current tests for her reveal that her present symptoms aren’t caused by Hantavirus. It doesn’t mean she didn’t contract it - it could still be incubating at the moment - but we’d need more time, monitoring, and testing to see what happens.

Rasutoerikusa 5 days ago +2
She was tested negative for hantavirus, so nothing happened to her at all.
2
Pocket_RPG 5 days ago +1
The window for transmission is hours. When it is transmissible, it needs to be close contact with bodily fluids or respiratory droplets. I:e you walk into someone’s cough, and breathe it in, or literally lick the inside of someone’s mouth.

PrestigiousGoat78 5 days ago +1
"and a confirmed case" do you even follow updates before spreading false info?
1
leadzor 5 days ago -2
No, and I’m not attempting to spread false information. That was the last update I’ve read so please correct me if I’m wrong.
-2
PrestigiousGoat78 5 days ago +2
News outlets have reported today that the flight attendant tested negative for hantavirus. So there's that. Doesn't mean anything for other people but she's not a confirmed case :) didn't mean to come across as harsh
2
leadzor 5 days ago +1
That makes sense as I’ve read this late list night. Thanks for correcting, really not my intention to spread false information, got sick and tired of other people doing that during COVID.
