10 USC 7033: Chief of Staff > (a)(1) There is a Chief of Staff of the Army, appointed for a period of four years by the **President**, by and with the **advice and consent of the Senate**, from the general officers of the Army. He serves at the pleasure of the President. In time of war or during a national emergency declared by Congress, he may be reappointed for a term of not more than four years. https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title10-section7033&num=0&edition=prelim Hegseth plays no role. He can stay as Army chief of staff until the President fires him. Our news media should learn civics

Probably more significant than Bondi getting the boot, but will likely get no coverage.

Pete Hegseth is destroying all the evidence that he's a idiot, and he's firing all the witnesses that can prove he lied about invading Iran.
