Not really. This is the Secretary of defense overruling the military. In my experience the rank and file are more liberal than people think. This isn’t to say they ARE liberal, but the rank and file enlisted run the gamut and are not far right ideologues on average.

There is practical use for flying the aircraft. Not everything is some precise tactical training flight. Fam flights exist and are frequent. As long as they didn’t cross country to kid rocks residence to do this, it’s on the same level as the navy pilots drawing dicks in the sky. This was dumb and the admin is idiotic, so people are caged to be mad about the next stupid thing they do…but there are levels to dumb things and this is really low on the totem pole for outrage. This will probably get downvoted because people think it’s some implicit endorsement of the admin or kid rock but it’s just an aviation community perspective
