Of course, the general told Hegseth that he's f\*cking crazy to launch a ground attack and hence he's retired now.

It could be even worse. This could be about the Army helicopters that did a fly by at Kid Rock's house. The pilots were initially suspended as an investigation began and Hegseth undid that in a tweet.

I think this is it.

lancelongstiff Apr 2, 2026 +30
Worse still, it could be that he was against Trump/Hegseth's plans for Iran, so the embarassing Kid Rock situation was planned to give everyone an out that didn't involve a General publicly declaring his lack of confidence in the White House. But that would rely on a level of strategic planning way beyond Hegseth and the Nepo-Baby-in-Chief's capability.

So a fly-by of Kid Rock's house as a false flag to justify ousting a top general? It's just stupid enough that I could believe it.
21
lancelongstiff Apr 3, 2026 +6
No it's too stupid, so I'm pretty confident that's what they went with.

If this is a moral stand by the general resulting in dismissal, he needs to speak out.
1
RandyMuscle Apr 2, 2026 +3
In what way is that worse than a ground invasion of Iran?
3
Randolphbonerman Apr 2, 2026 +4
Really? The utter stupidity of the situation and insane priorities of the drunk idiot in charge comes to mind.

TangledPangolin Apr 3, 2026 +1
One of them is a waste of thousands of dollars. Another is the waste of thousands of lives.
1
OnceInABlueMoon Apr 2, 2026 +8
Problem is if there is a ground attack that general is the most qualified to do it, now they'll find someone less qualified but eager to do it. Dangerous combination.

lost_horizons Apr 3, 2026 +1
It was always dangerous, probably a suicide mission. It could barely get worse. Yeah I know, it can always get worse

Trump and his clique are continuing to remove anyone who doesn't "Fall in Line". The disturbing thing is neither Trump or Hegseth have any clue what they're doing, but they're replacing competent people with those that will follow their orders without pushback.

That's part of being a dictator, a huge part.

lancelongstiff Apr 3, 2026 +9
There's some good news. Here's the approval ratings of previous SecDefs during war: * Cheney: **+62** * Rumsfeld: **+58** * Hegseth: **–17**

Perfect time to lose a general. Right before a ground invasion!

actusreus82 Apr 2, 2026 +11
“Why can’t I have generals like Hitler did?”
11
MagikarpGOD5 Apr 3, 2026 +6
Thinking this administration is more likely to follow in Stalin's footsteps, insisting on largely sycophants then reverting back after seeing massive losses

freshcoffeegrounds Apr 2, 2026 +3
Trump doesn't need generals since he knows more than all of them. He's just saving the tax payers $0.0005 this year!!!! #winning

It is when a genocide is called for, which the Trump regime and the GOP has been clamoring for.

Getting rid of Obama era appointments. Basically throwing out actual experienced leaders in favor of his former aid, who he appointed as acting general.

To the tune of “Danger Zone” for the uniformed.

Just run a quick check how many generals and admirals Hegseth removed: 1. General Charles Q. Brown Jr. (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) 2. Admiral Lisa Franchetti ( Chief of Naval Operations) 3. General Jim Slife ( Vice chief of staff of Air Force) 4. General Randy George ( Chief of staff of Army)

fuckswitbeavers Apr 2, 2026 +5
Hasn't he also brought back in a bunch of retired psychos?
5
Brief_Night_9239 Apr 2, 2026 +8
From what I read, it is only one. The current Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine. His appointment was unprecendent. He was a retired 3-star general which required a direct promotion and waiver. It is in law the qualification to be appointed as CJCS is a four-star officer or as a member of the Joint Chiefs which Caine was neither.

We are looking more and more like Russia everyday

begemot90 Apr 2, 2026 +14
I’ve thought for some time that we will be sending boot on the ground to Iran. This all but confirms it.

KlutzyInvestments Apr 2, 2026 +4
Dude didn’t want blood on his hands. Sad that he still rode it out this far, but I guess everyone has their limit.

I'm not a fan of how easy non elected officials can mess with mostly merit based structures like the military.

wanderingpeddlar Apr 2, 2026 +10
So if we now see a bunch of Army heading over to the gulf you know why Heqseth was head hunting. That I have see at least up till now mainly marines

poorfolx Apr 2, 2026 +1
We already have a few thousand soldiers of the 82nd on their way over there, with possibly another few thousand gearing up to go. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/thousands-us-army-paratroopers-arrive-middle-east-buildup-intensifies-2026-03-30/

Hegseth is Iran's best weapon

Stalin purged his experienced generals and officers in the 1930s which helped Hitler walk almost all the way to Moscow before the winter and an eventual stiffened resistance began to turn them back. US strategy now to be quarterbacked by a guy who co-ran a sofa on Fox News last year.

biscuitarse Apr 2, 2026 +6
He objected to a Good Friday, boots on the ground, holy war?
6
IllustriousRange226 Apr 2, 2026 +7
Didn’t Hitler do the same with generals he didn’t like?
7
jared__ Apr 2, 2026 +6
pretty obvious boots are going on the ground. this guy was most likely against it and was ousted. strap in

HoamerEss Apr 3, 2026 +5
If you were a secret Russian agent whose marching orders were to dismantle the standing of this country on the world’s stage and put its citizens against each other to then brink of civil war… someone finish my sentence

Haha that should help.

Hegdeth and Trump are crippling America.

Hogsbreath: a tenth-rate Fox "news" presenter; adulterer; liar, and now an incompetent, and ***the most*** unqualified SecDef in US history. D.E.I. : **D**angerously **E**ntitled and **I**ncompetent

Kid Rock mustve told Trump to forgive the helicopter pilots that were skimming civilian rooftops in Nashville.
2
2_Spicy_2_Impeach Apr 2, 2026 +5
That's probably not a good sign or they grew tired of his bullshit (not related to Iran). Hoping it's just an odd coincidence.
5
SISWIWH Apr 2, 2026 +8
As a rule of thumb, uniformed leadership outlasts civilian leadership, and that's by design. No way this is a coincidence.

Is he drunk again?

What could go wrong? I guess we will see.

he can do whatever he wants but they always come back to George MacLellan in the end

Spamgrenade Apr 3, 2026 +1
Needs a more war crimes friendly general I guess.

sidewalkcrusher_1 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Americans don’t like what’s happening. FYI . Lots of bots lots of propaganda
1
Happy_Feet333 Apr 3, 2026 +1
If America doesn't like what's happening, they had ample opportunity to prevent it... in the 2024 elections. When Trump laid out everything that is happening.  Of course, enough Democrats sat home because of Gaza... and are doubling-down on doing so again in 2026 and 2028. So it seems that Americans DO want this. Because actions speak louder than words. --- And if you don't like this and are American, it's time to seriously consider leaving. Doing whatever necessary to get out. Because your fellow countrymen are bound and determined to f*** themselves over... either because they like it (conservatives), or because of spite (leftists).

Sozebj Apr 3, 2026 +1
Possibly related to Kid Rock fly by controversy.
1
Bishopjones2112 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Possibly because the man showed an ounce of competence and Pete can’t have that.
1
taco_helmet Apr 3, 2026 +1
You're all idiots. Hegseth is a genius. If you only get good news from your generals, how are you not winning? Nothing ever bad happens, it only good happens.
1
TheTerribleInvestor Apr 3, 2026 +1
Didn't the US just criticize China for removing their top general?
