Got money from both sides, and regularly rotate. Play both mainland and Taiwan as fools. I hope one day both sides would say yes you can restore relationship but no there is no money.

Honduras "play mainland China as fools" with what exactly? You think the Chinese won't recognize it when listnookor do?

This is some ridiculously misleading headline. Asfura was originally known for being violently anti-China and super pro-Trump to the extent that Trump threatened to cut off Honduras foreign aid unless he was elected, and now he’s walking it back to just maybe considering it.

Not many countries willing to piss off mainland China nowadays.

I think a lot of countries realized China won’t do anything so they play both sides.

Yes, I don’t think Lithuania cares. It can just trade with the U.S. or India.

It’s a Chinese pov news site. Lithuania’s strengthening ties with the U.S. Every time China lashes out on a country the U.S. will create economic deals and strengthen ties with that nation. China lost a partner and the U.S. gained an ally.

Yeah some places just alternate recognition depending on whose cheque is bigger. Even Lithuania did their very hyped up name change for Taiwan in promise for investments into their chip manufacturing industry.

You may or may not know, but saying Mainland China implies that Taiwan is part of China. Just a heads up if that was not your intention.

Sounds like goods news for Taiwan, but with this statement he's walking back earlier statements that were more strongly pro-Taiwan: > Asked by Bloomberg on Wednesday why he shifted from calling for a break with China to ordering a review, Asfura said the government must first examine treaties signed under former President Xiomara Castro before making a final decision.
