Everyone is confused. This administration in a nutshell. No one knows what the f*** is going on.

I disagree, I think the entities pulling the strings know exactly what they're doing.

As Iran and Oman share the strait, if ships sail on the Oman side are they agreeable if Iran just hits those ships too?

Reports are saying the Oman side is mined.

Iran mined the side of Oman?

Maybe counterintuitively they mined everything except a narrow strip close to the Iranian coast

Sounds like an act of war against Oman, doesn't it? Don't they own the 12-18 miles directly offshore? Is this where Iran placed mines?

Did you just wake up from under a rock, or did you miss the part where Iran was indiscriminately attacking other gulf states for the last month? It's not like Oman has the military to do anything about it.

Okay, I feel like it’s time Americans start communicating with a little more grace. That part about just waking up from under a rock isn’t helpful. They were asking valid questions, and yes, it does sound like *yet another* act of war against Oman.

They dont give a f***, none of their neighbors can respond with force because Iran will retaliate disproportionally and wipe out their desalination plants. It has stated as much.
'Ownership' requires respecting the social contract, which takes a back seat during war - especially ones fought for existential survival.

Probably not. But they released a map which basically says anyone who goes there has bad things coming for them. But I think its probably saheds not mines that are going to ruin the day of anyone trying to run that gauntlet.
