could we maybe scale the back-and-forth articles down to an end-of-day summary, this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Trump says X so he can cause his stock market to go up. Trump says Y so the bad news is accepted while the stock market is closed. Trump says X so the stock market goes up.

And people wonder why he has such a beef with Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary. If the Baboon ever gets control of that part of America this is the shit he'd do. Self enrichment all day every day.

Yeah, that's one of the drawbacks of being able to instantly report news. Back when you had newspapers being the only form of news consumption, they'd basically print once per day, so they had a chance to digest through all the daily reports and then put together one summary from all the information.
Now, we have full news articles coming out 10 minutes after a politician tweets and multiple politicians tweeting multiple times per day.

How much is a standard tanker full of oil worth? Leaders can make all kinds of promises. Actuarial science doesn't lie. Insurance companies will not insure ships transiting the strait until they are convinced they won't be damaged. Every time Trump bloviates on the world stage adds extra lead time to any resolution.

Thank you. I honestly don't know where that came from. I have heard every permeation of put downs, asides, and other ungodly sane washing of our leader. It's a twenty five dollar word that will take another 20 years to use appropriately but... swear to god it's the first word that came to mind when thinking about him.

Japan, India, South Korea get their oil through that strait. Iran and the US are having a dispute. Everyone else is just paying for it.
