My favorite is when Rico run up at the end empty handed, and then 10 seconds later he has a tv in his hands 😂

The intentional continuity errors kill me in this movie
Especially when Rod makes the point to sing, "I do my laundry with no pants on" while in his underwear, but then walks into the room wearing pants haha.

my sister had recommended it and lent me the dvd swearing it was the funniest shit. i put it on one night when i was having a bad day and needed the pick-me-up. the whole time i'm watching this shitty no-budget trash film with stilted acting and over the top nonsense that just isn't hitting. the stepfathers an a******, why does rod want his respect? i was so not into it. none of the jokes were connecting at all. it was all a bunch of tryhard nonsense. then Rod finds out his step dad is dying and he wont' get to fight him and blurts out "i need to go to my happy place!" and starts punch-dancing his rage out in the woods while a saxophone belts out and he double fists a beer and a cigarette. the music was intoxicating and it centered me - it was the 80s again. Rod's dancing became more infectious and i found myself feeling bad for him and finally hoping he would pull it together and fight his dad as he started doing incredibly acrobatic olympic level moves across the logs. then he trips over one and goes tumbling down the mountainside forever, with each shot being more violent as he ragdolls off stumps and rocks and sudden drops... i was in tears laughing. i was more broken than Rod after the fall. the rest of the movie after that was somehow oddly hilarious - every joke was savvy. every wink and nod landed expertly. the tonal stimming in Dave's backyard, the broken skate blade, and of course this epic march... everything was falling into place. epic finale. great movie. i rewatched it the next day and the beginning was suddenly funny - HHWISKEY!!!
it's like when you move to a new city and make new friends - but they laugh at weird shit and you don't get it at first. you're not in on the inside jokes. ...but once you match your frequency to theirs, suddenly it all makes sense, you're on the same wavelength and it's great.
i think you should leave is sorta like that too - it takes a couple skits to warm up.

It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen but for some reason I would never put it on a list of great comedies. I think it’s an extreme not funny movie that’s not a particularly great movie. I would still recommend it to anyone who hasn’t see it. I feel the same way about land of the lost which has Danny McBride playing basically the same character.

Until *very* recently I didn't know this was an actual hit song. I thought it was some stock inspirational-sounding music akin to "Sweet Victory" from SpongeBob.
I was baffled when it came up in some "One hit wonders of the 80s" video I watched with my wife and she was shocked when I shared this revelation.

I love when Bill Hader was being interviewed about this movie and he said he based his character on a few of his real life friends.
One of said friends mentioned to him that he, too, launched a piece of metal into his eyebrow and asked Bill if he knew that. Bill said he thought to himself, "yeah I based that on you, you f****** idiot" lmao, obviously Bill is half-joking and continues to say that they guy was actually really smart, however that blunder always stuck with him.

The synchronized dancing transition into total chaos perfectly captures the peak absurdist energy of the Lonely Island era. It remains one of the most impressively committed bits in modern comedy history.

The synchronized choreography during that sequence is surprisingly well-executed for such a ridiculous comedy. It remains one of the most memorable and absurd moments in the entire film.
