i watched hotd first and i'm halfway through got s2 but it was genuinely sm easier to get into hotd. i tried watching got first but couldn't get into it until after watching hotd. with hotd i was hooked within the first episode. the more centered plots and character dynamics in hotd were just more engaging.
this doesn't apply to hotd s2 with its awful pacing and the character destruction of alicent
