The war puts China in a difficult position. They had been buying a lot of Iranian oil at a nice d******* and got most of their petroleum and natural gas from the gulf. Most of that isn't getting out. One of the reasons China has been so into electric cars and renewables is their lack of domestic production. Not being able to get things into the gulf is causing problems for them, too. Shipping costs are going up and a lot of exporters with goods destined for gulf nations are sitting on shit they can't ship, or finding new buyers at fire sale prices to free up warehouse space. On the the other hand, as a geopolitical competitor to the US, China is happy to watch us blow our load of ordinance and piss off our important allies. The longer this war goes on, the worse it is for the US. China plays the long game. High gas prices and exporters on the brink of bankruptcy are small prices for them compared to the damage the US is doing to itself right now. They are not going to help us.

I don't blame them. It's not just China that need oil, other Southeast Asian countries too. Why would any country help this administration when they disrespect and commit war crimes? US had over 240 years of wars and only 14 yrs off. Take a fckin break from wars for crying out loud!!!

China has had a lot of practice in handling "hardship" for long periods of time. They also have Australia to supply them most stuff. Crude is probably their biggest issue, but there's always Russia to talk to.

China has rail, as a fallback, to bring goods to the Gulf and if this continues they will be earning interest on the trade imbalance. Trump needs to be on the phone with Beijing because this is a proxy war with them. China provides weapons and technology to IRI, and it’s been confirmed that China provided direct assistance to Houthis in Yemeni civil war. It’s foolish to not entertain that China provided direct assistance to IRI during the past four weeks. Trump is the only Pres dumb enough to go fight without a proxy.

It's not going to risk those diplomatic relations for the Houthis of all things. China orchestrated the Saudi-Iranian detente in 2023, and a big part of that was working toward a framework for peace in Yemen. Supporting the Houthis would basically destroy their entire diplomatic strategy in the middle east

China needs to give Iran a security guarantee against Israel (and the US) up to and including in the event of a Nuclear attack by Israel. Iran needs to withdraw their proxies from Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. Settle this shit once and for all.

I definitely believe China & Iran. Nobody is talking to each other. I don’t believe Iran is begging for a compromise. Iran continues to bomb as many US facilities in other Countries in the ME. They will NEVER forgive Trump for killing his entire close family. He wants revenge and he’ll get it. However, Regular Americans with Common Sense does not want another War w/the Middle East. There was no EMINENT THREAT To the USA. Period, End of Story.
