Hahaha! Good. Republicans in the Senate were trying to save Trump’s demented ass, and House Republicans were too stupid to grab onto the life raft. This is great news for Democrats.

Bad news for anyone trying to fly.

Well, maybe that’s a lesson to anyone who voted Trump or stayed home. When you vote for an authoritarian sociopath, that’s what you’re going to get.

Here's the problem I didn't vote for trump. I did my civic duty and voted for the reasonable candidate. I door knocked for them. Volunteered time. All for some chuckle f*** to think its great that our country is failing becuase it helps their preferred party. Enough is enough.

Yeah, I’m sorry, but I’m suffering too. However, you know what really makes me mad? When Democrats continually save Republicans from their failures. Every single time, Dems swoop in to make things better, only for Republicans to get saved by Democratic competence. F*** that. Republicans made their bed. The American people need to see the consequences of voting for a dictator. I’m sorry, but learning doesn’t come without pain, and many MAGAts are only beginning to feel the sting of their stupidity.

Agreed. If Biden hadn't largely bailed out Americans from the consequences of Trump's 1st term we probably wouldnt be in this mess. They need to feel enough pain so the republican party dies on this cross.

What always annoyed me for years was how consistently the question is brought up during a Republican government when they're screwing things up. I've seen this since Bush Jr. "Well, what are Democrats doing about it!?" And it was ALWAYS asked by a Republican voter. An admission of being aware which party is the more responsible one, while voting for the leopards to eat their face.

Okay, I’ve been voting blue since I could vote. I don’t need the lesson.

BudgetLaw2352 Mar 27, 2026 +2
I know YOU don’t, but more than 75 million people (plus those who stayed home) do.
2
Moon_Noodle Mar 27, 2026
They’re not going to learn that lesson. Most of them aren’t paying attention, still.

Eh, it’s a mixed response. Most of the GOP will stay, but many are being turned away, as well

Brother you need to understand we have 342million people in this country. 21% to 27% are functionally illiterate. Thats 45million give or take. Another 6ish% have an IQ from 70 to 79, so that's another 10 to 20 million people. You can easily point to just dumb people. So do you really think people who cant read or understand are going to learn this lesson? No they are going to belive whatever the f*** they are told and irs been dems bad for the last 15 years. THESE PEOPLE ARE DUMB!

And they can't wait for the states to gerrymander so that your vote no longer matters.

Republicans cannot govern....period. The only thing they can do is complain.

They do more things! Like embezzle money and touch their staffers inappropriately.

It’s upsetting that they can’t just agree to unmask ICE and have them follow the constitution and obtain warrants when the go into someone’s house. It’s upsetting the GOP isn’t budging on that. And it’s extremely upsetting and heartbreaking they aren’t budging because there are enough people in their districts that are so against basic decency for a government agency that protects US as PEOPLE that they will throw a fit and will primary them out of their next election. Because they want ICE to be masked and break into people’s homes without a care in the world. And they like that ICE can hurt people without consequence. It’s sick sick sick. And they want the SAVE Act to pass because again - they aim to hurt. No fair and free elections for all. Disenfranchise voters and hurt the other party because they are “other” and the federal government has convinced you they are radical and deserve to hurt.

It hurts to read this because the truth hurts.

This isn't the "dEmOcRAT sHuTdOWn." Republicans have been blocking multiple proposals from Democrats to fund DHS agencies, including TSA, since this shutdown fight began. Trump himself just recently rejected a bipartisan proposal to fund TSA that was sent to the White House for approval. Mind you, this was days before Trump announced that he would be signing an order to pay TSA employees, and without any details about where these funds would come from and how long the funding would last. Which begs the question, why the f-ck didn't Trump announce this plan SOONER!? The most obvious answer is that this is another opportunistic PUBLICITY STUNT. Another desperate scheme on Trump's part to curb his already declining ratings after being the primary cause of the very problem he is now conveniently eager to remedy; an effort lacking in all sincerity. A short term and half-baked fix to an issue that he DELIBERATELY prolonged. And for what!? Credit. That's all Trump cares about. And his mindless followers are so misinformed and slavishly pro-Trump that they actually perceive this whole political charade as some kind of achievement! Again, Democrats have been drafting proposal after proposal to fund these separate agencies for weeks, only to be dismissed by Republicans who only care about selling a narrative. And when Americans stopped buying that narrative, Republicans finally decided to compromise with Democrats, only to have Trump refuse their proposal. Despite all the propaganda coming from the White House blaming Democrats for these ongoing challenges, the fault has ALWAYS rested with the Republican party and their spiteful leader. That much is CERTAIN. Also note that any argument about a lack of funding for ICE is being argued in BAD FAITH. Last year, Republicans provided the Trump administration with $150 billion in EXTRA funding for immigration enforcement operations and Trump's mass deportation agenda. This was part of Trump's big ugly bill and came at the direct expense of the American people's access to health care, food assistance, and economic opportunities. So Republicans have nothing to complain about, ICE got its funding, and Americans got their pockets picked. Meanwhile, all Democrats are asking for is common sense reforms that are basic for any law enforcement agency. This is apparently too much to ask of Republicans even though we've all acknowledged the impropriety, tyranny and corruption of DHS. Kristi Noem was ousted for a REASON. Donald Trump and his party of groveling loyalists and sycophants never cared about TSA employees, they only cared about pushing a narrative. They demand sympathy for the same federal employees who they kept out of a paying job during the last shutdown because Democrats asked for affordable healthcare for Americans. Also, Republicans have shown no sympathy whatsoever for the hundreds of thousands of government staff who have been laid off by this administration. Don't believe for a second that Donald Trump and the Republican party have anyone's interests in mind but THEIR OWN.

What makes these idiots think that the senate would be willing to pass any stopgap bills? don't forget that the republicans also controls the senate.
4
Seasonal_Evergreen Mar 27, 2026 +1
I don't like the "Republican's control the senate" argument because it pretends the filibuster doesn't exist. And if the filibuster gets nuked then then it clears the way for the SAVE Act to pass. Democrats have significant power in the senate by virtue of both parties having historically seen value in keeping the filibuster in place. If everyone keeps harping on about how Republican's have all the power there, if they want it, and that they are therefore complicit in these legislative failures because they're not using it, then that creates more pressure for them to _actually_ take complete control. (they are complicit in other ways, but not in this way)

Well, ok, "nothing passes without their consent".

By design. Now, Trump can claim that congress is dysfunctional and that only he can unilaterally solve this problem that he created.

BidenGOAT Mar 27, 2026 +3
it should be clear now, even to the gullible, that it is the Republicans that are against paying TSA, FEMA, and the coastguard. Those long delays at airports- thank the GOP speaker, delays in FEMA response, thank Johnson, coastguard protection against drugs - the Republicans did that, while blaming there own party Senators.

No more f****** stopgaps - do your damn job!
