Conan won't say anything inflammatory about Leno in public. If you want that, go to Andy Richter.

Yeah, there’s nothing to gain by attacking Leno at this point and all the headlines would be “Conan still bitter about Leno taking his job ‘[out of context quote]’”

Yeah. It gets brought up on his podcast sometimes and you'll hear him get intentionally quiet about it to make his point without saying anything

Man, Conan got out of late night at the perfect time. All these other guy are going to fade into obscurity.

not always a bad thing. Take the money and run.

I don't think Colbert is going to fade into obscurity. And I would bet a month's salary Seth Meyers will take over SNL when he ends his show and the immortal being that is Lorne Michaels climbs back into his flying saucer and goes home.  The other guys, though, will mostly end up as footnotes.

Leno inadvertently did Conan the biggest favor by removing him from the Tonight Show. That show would have hindered him in the same way the Late Show has limited Colbert as a comedian.

Yes, but it was his dream to host it and it got taken away in the most embarrassing way possible for him. So while it's turned out well for him, still... Screw Leno for that

Also, Conan is better at late night than Colbert, who never has topped his Comedy Central character

At this point Conan would be punching down to say anything critical of Jay, because all Jay Leno has done since then was fall down hills and get hot fuel sprayed in his face. Or as I like to call it, karma

Don't blame Conan

Whatever you do, don't blame Conan!

I hope you’re not planning on blaming Conan! Jay also said that Conan is a family man

Jay is also taking care of his wife with severe dementia. I hate Jay, but it’s a bad look to bash him while he is living his own nightmare.

“I hate Jay” “Don’t bash Jay” - the same dude

I mean yeah, that’s a mature response.

Jay Leno is the freaking worst his car club met where I worked in Malibu during the height of COVID and resulted in multiple employees of mine getting sick, he’s truly vile.

He did have a car show on tv.

Jay is doing fine.

Conan being a far bigger class act than Jay Leno deserves.

Jay Leno is dealing with his wife having dementia, it's awful and heartbreaking. Conan is not going to say anything overly negative about him at this point. Jay did some underhanded stuff back in the day, but this is not a good time to bring up all that stuff.

It was 16 years ago. I hope he’s over it. It was also NBC that got cold feet about Conan’s slow start. Conan was probably the better long term new host over Fallon, I think all this drama was the beginning of the end for late night tv.

Conan also got paid ALL that money for what Jay did

He got a huge pay out.

TheDarkChambers1 Mar 25, 2026 +15
That he used to pay his staff because Conan is a good guy unlike Jay

I love Conan but if he takes 30 million dollars he shouldn't also complain.

TheDarkChambers1 Mar 25, 2026 +10
I get that, but Conan doesn’t seem like he’s in it for the money. He genuinely seems to love what he does and was upset about losing his dream job in such a rough way, like any human would. I don’t blame him.

Lol this a perfect example of the irrational hatred towards Leno. The only reason that Leno stayed at NBC is because he didnt have to fire his crew.

The fun thing is that the past is what we say it is, even if what we say is wrong
