How do you experience your memories? When you think back, do you see the memory in your mind’s eye? If so, do you see the memory in first person, or like you’re watching a movie?
My boyfriend and I were talking about memories and how we see them in our minds. He sees them from his own POV, first person. I see my memories like I’m watching a clip of a movie from my life. Just curious how others see their own memories or if anyone has any insight into why some people relive them in first person and others don’t.

Mine is similar to yours - like I’m watching a film of myself and my experience. So weird but cool!

Interesting question. When I think about it, I feel like most of my memories I see are from a first-person POV, but there are a couple that I see from a third-person POV, as if it were an out of body experience. I mean not exactly but sort of in the way you described, like you're watching a clip from your life.

i usually recall memories as if i'm watching a movie, like i’m seeing it unfold from a distance. makes it easier to process all the feelings that come with it. what about you?

I relive them and view them in first person, but like I'm a spirit just floating around observing everything. I can go to different rooms and examine things, but there's no acknowledgement of my presence and I can't physically interact with anything/anyone. Sometimes there's subtitles.
