As a grown-ass adult, I have no desire to talk to children on the internets.

The minimum age is 13. I think that's too young to be on here

This site is a dumpster fire. Between the unchecked DMs and the sublistnooks that shouldn't exist, it’s basically a playground built over a minefield. I wouldn’t let a kid near this place without a hazmat suit and a therapist on speed dial.

If I hadn't discovered listnook/4chan when I was 14 I might have blended in better with friends, this app made me not so childlike. For better or worse.

Using it for a resource, I think is okay. Doom scrolling the front page is not.

Miners shouldn't even be allowed on the internet...

I could care less about protecting them. It's not the the role of government or companies to parent your kids for you. Stop trying to destroy the right to privacy by blaming kids and national security.
If you want to fix it, take phones away from kids. Make them use the internet the way we grew up. You had to go home and use a home computer to update your social media, it wasn't with you 24/7. Get them a dumb phone for emergencies and a digital camera. The youth culture surrounding mobile applications and social media is toxic. Get them to start throwing rocks at each other and calling each other slurs in the school hallway in person like we had to do.

Mining should be respected as honest work, where their labor provides the raw material for our daily lives. I see no reason why they should be excluded.

I have mixed feelings. There are some very very bad people on here. There are people who are openly pdfiles and people who defend, joke about and support sex crimes against adults and children. There are adults on here that wouldn’t see anything wrong with harassing or leaving abusive comments under minor’s comments and posts. But at the same time it may be the case that Listnook or places like Listnook is the only place where a minor feels comfortable being vulnerable, sharing things about themselves, opening up etc as irl they might not be in a safe environment to do that at home, so online is the next best thing. Some might use it as an escape from their personal lives or don’t get to interact with others a whole lot and are looking for connection so this is where they might come in order to have their needs met that aren’t being met irl. While being connected and having this type of space is important and can be helpful to the younger ones I just don’t think Listnook is the best place for minors. I remember when I was a kid and was online as a 13/14 year old I’d be on sites sort of like this and grown men would try to get me to sneak out and hook up, they’d be completely inappropriate in my dms knowing that I was a minor. Some of the apps and sites that this happened on are pretty much exactly like Listnook with insignificant differences. In conclusion Indo not think that Listnook is safe for minors and I don’t think they should be on this app but there should be something like this for them because I believe in this context that minors and adults should be segregated.
