Very interesting read.

Trump's war in Iran is feeding both Iran and Russia petroleum $. Bush senior used oil trade to starve the Soviet Union of cash in the cold war and it ultimately led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Geopolitical economics 101. Even a first year economics student understands this. But this went completely over Trump's head. Trump is good at grifting, but strategy is not his strong point. And he's preparing to send in troops in what will be a historic humiliation for the US military. He's clearly never watched Blackhawk Down, or played Risk. There are things even elite forces can't accomplish in guerrilla warfare. The whole manosphere is about to eat some serious humble pie at the expense of US soldiers. There just is no scenario where this goes well unless someone evokes the 25th amendment. I'm sure US military are having serious nightmares right now.

Trump might be dreaming of restoring historical British and American control of Iranian oil industry. (Also look at the model of the restored American dominance over the oil industry of Valenzuela.) Looks like he is failing at getting his Iranian deal.
