So I went down a bit of a rabbit hole about Chuck Norris, especially his TV work like Walker, Texas Ranger, and tried to figure this out:
How many times has he actually died in movies or TV?
After digging around, the answer seems to be:
Basically 0 confirmed on-screen deaths
Which is kind of insane when you think about how long his career is.
- In Walker, Texas Ranger, he’s practically invincible
- In movies like The Delta Force and Missing in Action, he’s always the one doing the rescuing
- Even when his character is in serious danger, he always makes it back
I couldn’t find any solid example where his main character actually dies on screen. There are some vague mentions of obscure roles or “presumed dead” situations, but nothing definitive.
At this point I’m wondering if this was intentional casting/branding or just a coincidence over time.
Did I miss any obscure example where Chuck Norris actually dies on screen?
Bruce Lee definitely kills him in Way of the Dragon. At least that's the inference I take.

Yeah, he breaks his neck, I'd say that counts.

Yeah he died 100 pct . Bruce Lee even lays Norris clothes on him afterwards as a sign of respect

Actually die? Zero.
On screen?
The Lone Death: The Way of the Dragon (1972) [Bruce Lee breaks his neck and then vocers his body with his gi as a sign of respect]
The Hitman (1991) [not really but sort of]
Walker, Texas Ranger [he dies a few time on the table or whatnot but comes back]
How many times does Arnold die on screen, Steven Seagal? These types of roles don't usually die. It's not a coincidence.

Arnie dies in like every terminator movie, but yeah.

Arnold was more willing to die. I can think of a few times. Basically every Terminator he was in, End of Days, possibly Total Recall based on your interpretation. Possibly others.
I think Seagal only died once and he was unhappy about it.

Three times for Seagal. But yeah.
Executive Decision, Machete and The Perfect Weapon. In the last one; he's the CIA Chief dictator of the world and his twin brother kills him and takes over his life in the ending? It's a weird one.

Seagal’s death movie is great on its own, and one of his best.

Funny that you picked Arnold since he dies in almost every Terminator movie.

I think Tom Cruise has only died in one movie? Don't want to say which because I don't know how to hide spoilers.
