I don’t enjoy any content I watch and can’t stick with anything for more than 5 minutes. The other day, I even found *Breaking Bad* really boring.
Anyone please tell if they have faced a similar issue, this is too frustrating juggling between every other show and movie.
Use your phone less. Not even joking. It trains your brain for short form content and instant gratification.

This. TikTok brain is indeed real and hurts the attention span.

If you’re struggling to find joy and enjoyment, please seek a therapist. They can help.

You might discuss Anhedonia with a mental health professional.

I think this is a short attention span issue. We are used to being on our phone while only half watching stuff. I would take a total screen break to reset.

Yeah, sounds like the issue is your ability/desire to sit and watch a linear narrative. I'm just a guy on the Internet, what do I know..maybe meds, therapy, switch to YouTube highlight clips?

I have the same issue myself. I have ADHD that I swear is getting worse with age. I watch a lot of stuff on youtube, though even then I need to pause a lot and don't always finish every video.
I want to get back on meds for ADHD (more because I'm back in school right now) but my idiot doctors lost my records from when I was younger and don't have a record of it (I was diagnosed at 6 years old and on something all through to graduating high school and on/off in adulthood) and waiting list to be seen to get back on it is 2 f\*\*king years.

Is there any other thing apart from meds that can help. I live in a family where ADHD would be claimed as taboo with high level of dissent from parents etc.

Are you actually trying to watch the shows, or on your phone with the TV on as background noise?

when i have my phone , its that i immediately try to check mails, open messages etc. If that device it on the charge, i just subconsciously start to pull my hair because narrative building has been hella frustrating lately.

Yeah I don't think this is a TV issue my guy. Definitely something else at play here.

This sounds like depression or unmanaged ADHD which can cause depression.

Well, for starters stop asking questions on reddit, put your phone down or off, and focus watch something you find interesting. Does wonders.
I did Rome that way and now I regard it as one of the best series I've ever went blind into (besides knowing some obvious historical events).

You are kind of right. Using social media like TikTok conditions us to like TkTok more. It offers new stimulus whenever we are bored and we don't need to sustain our attention. TikTok and such are designed to be addictive amd their negative effect on attention span is widely known. Teachers aroumd the world report hiw young people don't have the attention span to read longer texts anymore, and even online texts longer than asatus update are labelled as "walls of text" or "manifestos" because many people today don't see it as normal to write / read longer texts.
Even Netflix movies are written so that plot points are repeated so that people who use their phone while watching can follow the plot.
So the issue of OP is not a specific personal trait of his, but a widely known negative effect of fast paced social media.
