So what Hungarians are supposed to believe is that Ukraine sabotaged these pipelines just before the elections, risking Hungarians voting for mr Pupin Puppet again? I’m sorry but if you believe any of that you’re basically a vegetable:

Also in Serbia a country that has massive Russian support.

hi Serb here, not true a tiny minority is actually pro-Russia, the rest are anti-everyone since EU refuses to acknowledge Vucic is a dictator and feeds him billions of EU tax money big difference between being pro-Russia and just trolling all sides that said I wish our pro-Russia guys went to war for Russia, a lot of them did and thank god never returned but it's never enough

LSF604 5 days ago +113
Can't speak about Serbia specifically,  but generally speaking the 'everyone sucks ' cynicism is something Russia promotes. It demotivates their opposition while their supporters stay motivated

RomaHappens 5 days ago +44
We're fighting against Vucic and the EU keep taking smiling pictures with him, shaking his hand, and sending him money. Which he then uses to pay paramilitary to kill protesters. That's what an average Serbian person sees and those who understand diplomacy better like me are very scarce.

LSF604 5 days ago +11
That's the whole thing about propaganda right? It reduces a complex situation to a simple situation and then manipulates people's emotions.
11
RomaHappens 4 days ago +1
Propaganda has a unique source and a purpose, this is people's opinion. Nobody is saying this, definitely not the opposition since they're pro-EU.
1
LSF604 4 days ago +1
In the age of social media 'unique sources' are undetectable. Making people's opinions seem organic is completely possible.

What are you arguing here dude?

The things I just said? Are you asking me to write them again?

Everyone does suck though. Some just suck more than others. I find it helps by telling people not to vote FOR someone, but to vote AGAINST someone. For instance I'm a brit, and it'd be a cold day in hell before I vote for Labour, those feckless bastards who basically made it illegal to be against a genocide. But voting AGAINST the tories or reform ? Yeah I can do that.
3
LSF604 4 days ago +2
The propagandised message says that both sides or the same precisely to discourage voting against the worst option.  In the usa a whole bunch of people refused to vote against trump because biden kept backing Israel. This was despite trump being even worse on that front, and far worse on many others.

Yep Serbia is in a wild spot afaik I got as much report like it is a full pro Russia country as I got that people want to get away from ruzzia. If most people are in the second category that's.good and I hope to be wrong but I still remember the pro-russian manifestation in Serbia from not that long ago :(. Edit: Russia/serbia

RomaHappens 5 days ago +13
We've never been pro-Russia, even as a communist country we were proud to tell Stalin to f*** off and kept it that way after his death. Up until 2015ish you'd be seen as a moron if you mentioned Russia as something great. Loss of freedom of speech and Vucic letting his extreme right wing hordes loose made people shut up, so now there's a lot of show that we support Russia but it's really only Red Star football ultras, and only those who work directly for him. There's still a lot of people who fall for the anti-West propaganda but still a small minority. The problem is that you can't do anything against these "pro Russia" people because you get attacked by literal criminals and most likely killed, and since they literally work for Vucic nothing can happen to them.

Medallicat 5 days ago +2
I think it is fair to be “anti-west” in some respect, but it is the lesser evil when compared with alternatives. I prefer to be an anti-authoritarian/anti-fascist/anti-nazi, pro-liberty and pro-freedom.

It definietly IS true. Majority of the media are pro-Russian. Very interesting that you got so many upvotes, saying something completely false. Majority of media? All but two TVs are controlled by the dictator. All but one newspapers are owned by him. What are you talking about? Serbia has no freedoms, no democracy, no elections, and you people talk about freedoms, democracy, or elections Even media's regulatory bodies which decide who will get the national frequency are his servants who place propaganda TV only on the nation-wide frequencies. Seriously, it's sad how little you guys know about Serbia. EU brought in a guy from the 90s who participated in genocides and anti-west propaganda as recent as 2010 celebrating deaths of politicians and mafia, and then you're telling me what my country is?
2
Far-Cover-200 4 days ago +1
Maybe you misunderstood. I wasnt talking about "freedoms, democracy, or elections". I am saying that those media that are under the control of the regime are pro-Russian. The linked articles explain this.

Hungarian here. We are ~1week off of elections, and Putin puppet starts to realize that things are looking grim for his sorry ass despite how propaganda supposed to work usually to free win elections, but not this time. This is a great translated summary of the shit that has been pouring in Fidesz's neck just over the last week: https://youtu.be/XTp45qKCYRw What you see right now is the last ditch effort of them going "Ukraine bad & EU bad, Fidesz & Russia good". I can't imagine them winning the vote. If anything Tisza is set to win it by mearly 2/3 majority, so they can't get away with "slightly tilting the results to win" as meddling would be blatantly obvious. I'd say they'll try to last moment delay/cancel elections, but that's not going to go well for them either...

Worked before, false flag operation is a go-to for desperate presidents, look to George W. Bush and september 11 or Russians claiming that Ukrainians were attacking Russia.

Lmao, the Hungarian opposition was informed weeks prior and by multiple sources that Russia and orban were planning a false flag operation against the pipeline, and it literally happened exactly as they were told ! I can’t believe with this guy anymore, i can’t believe even 1 person is supporting this russian tool called orban.

*i can’t believe even 1 person is supporting this russian tool called orban* Many people have no access to an unbiased source or differing viewpoints. All of their media is government propaganda.

KittySwarm 4 days ago +1
because propaganda works and they control the information space. imagine if it was all Fox News all the time everywhere and opposing sources were actively suppressed. Also, the level of corruption and patronage that still goes on is wild. People are underestimating the ability of this regime to suppress votes and buy votes.
1
Present-Bunch6833 2 days ago +1
Can you bring me up a source that they were informed? I've heard about it, but i'm trying to find out some claims that the operation will happen before it did.

Serbia has said it found “explosives of devastating power” near a pipeline that carries Russian natural gas to Hungary and beyond, sparking claims by Hungary’s leading opposition candidate of a possible “false flag” operation aimed at influencing the country’s elections.

octarine-noise 5 days ago +52
The ones who are conditioned to believe the whole world is out to get them, and Orbán is the only one who can protect them? Very. The rest of us? We *are* technically laughing at this, but trust me, there's no mirth behind it.

Agreeable_Falcon1044 5 days ago +15
They are largely ignorant to the wider world and their media is insanely biased. I knew a Hungarian lady and she didn’t believe the Ukrainian war was real as it wasn’t reported back there.

Look into th background of Hungary media consolidation by Orban aligned players....calling Hungarian Media anything even free adjacent is a lie. So many people in Orbans circle got RICH. The guy built massive soccer stadium and his small home town...... There are some parallels here. Hungary was the test drive

bem13 5 days ago +5
I was about to correct you on that "largely", but considering the 2022 results, where out of about 8.2 million voters 2.8 million voted for Orbán, and 2.5 million thought everything was fine and didn't even bother to vote... yeah. I just hope we can finally prove the world we're not actually all idiots in about a week.

Did you miss the "assassination attempt" on Trump before the election that conveniently skimmed him but didn't leave a scar, and let him literally pose in front of a flag? False flag attacks are literally Russian politics 101.

Orban: "The Serbian president told me they found explosives few hundred meters from the pipeline" "Is there any evidence for this?" "He only said it so it must be true"

Honestly, this fits a familiar pattern, Russia has every incentive to create chaos and prop up friendly governments in Europe, so it’s hard not to see their fingerprints on something like this
1

How is this country still part of the EU!? As it seems that no one is following rules based world order anymore, why should EU? Majority vote and f*** off
1
fraggordonn 5 days ago +2
Same with slovakia
2
fraggordonn 5 days ago +1
…and also, this would be the cheapest yet one of the most effective ways to increase EU security. In fact it would save billions per year in subsidies that would be otherwise paid to these oblasts

Orban gets along with Putin because he is as corrupt as Putin. EU should boot Hungary from the union. The EU does not need its own 2nd rate Trump

False flag as in the same way it was claimed Russia blew up the Nord pipeline only for it to turk out Ukraine did it. Lol, don't trust any side. Both sides are duking it out and and are getting funds from respective backing groups.
